Stopped in here two days ago to squeeze in an additional night of camping after an extended stay in the area. They were able to accommodate my last minute request with no problem and got us an RV spot. It was also a nice greeting with all of the attention from the manager's Yorkie :) Beautiful views here, clean level sites and hook-ups in great shape. The shower building immaculate clean. The swimming area is also very nice in a great shady cove,. If you like trains, and I do, it was neat to watch them coming through. The only thing I would change is have their sign closer to the road on HWY 14. You can miss the turn coming from Stevenson if never been here before. Just a really nice place and sort of wish I started the trip in the RV here. On my short list for future trips

this place was fantastic - lovely set up and owners were very helpful. Especially as my husband left his ring and favourite hat behind! Definitely recommend for a stay. Showers were awesome too.

I have been blessed to be able to stay at The Resort at Skamania Coves on many occasions. I have stayed in both The River House & The High House multiple times. The High House has 3 bedrooms, is newer & has sweeping views of the Gorge. I was able to take my small, well behaved dog there as well. It was so wonderful I have 2 more weekends booked there this year. The River House, my favorite, is a one bedroom charmer! It's simply magical. I would live there if I could. It is secluded and a rare find along the Columbia River. Yes there is a train very close by which I had to get used to the 1st night but by the 2nd we were old friends. There are so many special qualities about this place that the train simply doesn't tip the scale to negative. It's all wonderful! In fact... that train really plays a role in the step back in time feel you have of early years in the Gorge. The couple that manages the resort are adorable! Always quick to respond to my emails. Eight months pregnant, she and her husband came down in the dark one night when I didn't know how to use the wifi. Very attentive... always sweet. They do a fantastic job. I read a review where the folks left an RV spot early because of the train and they didn't get a refund. Unfortunately that is business and they have a business to run and I imagine they couldn't re-rent the spots. Unfortunate but that stuff happens and that's how any place would deal with it. If they stuck it out I would imagine that would have all become background noise as it is to me. At least I would hope so. The coves are breathtaking and peaceful. I cannot say enough good about this sweet spot. If you haven't already, put this on your bucket list. You will regret not enjoying this incredible place, the peacefulness of it, the views it offers.... it's like spying on God.

Boy howdy is this place a lovely sight to behold! We stayed in spot 1 in our RV trailer. The spots are wide, easy to back into, and feature a nicely maintained grassy area on either side along with a picnic table. The view of the river from many of the RV spots is to die for. To say that a river runs through the park is only a slight exaggeration. The river is not more than 1000 feet away from the RV spots. Overall, the grounds are well-maintained; if staying in the spots nearest the laundry room, the wifi is as consistently available as one can expect of public wifi; and the hosts are amiable and courteous and available when needed, while staying out of one's hair when not. The park offers easy access to the river and is, itself, situated not far from the center of the town of Stevenson where one can pop into the grocery or hardware store to pick up something they might have forgotten to pack. It's almost idyllic. Almost. The RV park is sandwiched between a busy highway (and I do mean *busy*) and a BUSY railroad track. Both the highway and the train track couldn't be more than 250 feet away the RV spots. The non-stop 18-wheel truck commute noise starts around 5am, daily. It's loud; so loud that, as one might expect, it rumbles the walls of an RV. Surprisingly, the highway noise pales in comparison to the train noise. It's incessant, it's accompanied by the ear-splitting blare of each train's horn, and it goes on, seemingly endlessly. Well, it goes on for the number of train cars per train that pass by, so maybe that's 50 cars or so, give or take. I had no idea that so many trains make their way from Point A to Point B in the wee hours of the night, but it turns out to be true. Not long after one train has blazed a path through an unsurprisingly fitful night's sleep, another one follows suit to keep the promise of sleep at bay and always out of reach. Once night yields to dawn, the trucks take over the noise-making shift and what could have been an idyllic, peaceful time at a lovely RV park, is, instead, a painfully loud and sleep-deprived experience. It goes on like this, day after day. By the way, Skamania Coves makes no mention of the fact that, just like the movie "A River Runs Through It", a train runs straight through their property... and then another... and then another... Oh look, here comes another! We had planned to spend 7 days here but left after 2. The host and owner *refused* to give us a partial refund. So unless you have an endless supply of industrial strength earplugs, I'd recommend against the lovely but clamorous Resort at Skamania Coves.
