Very calm place , clean and welcoming. The cottage has absolutely all new appliances, clean bedding and a bathroom washed to a shine. On the territory there is a new swimming pool and fire place. Very good
Stayed 4 nights in one of the Executive Cottages. Was well kept, clean, spacious and comfortable. The pool was great. 20 minute walk to Cavendish beach, and 5 minute drive. Great location. Would stay here again for sure.Rooms: 5/5
This is hard. Service has been very poor as of lately. Location is fantastic. Facilities are hit and miss. When they miss, they are not very good. Availability appears to be random at best. Management is poor. Arguing to obtain bathroom resources should not be a thing. If you get the cottage you want, good times. If not be prepared for a rough stay. Missing the old manager/caretaker dearly. May he rest in peace
It was ok. It's an older building and the room shows its age. Excellent location, right on the Cavendish strip. Small fridge, no microwave. Hot breakfast in a different building and it was good. Nice takeout a couple minute walk up the street. They have designated parking spaces for the room you're in, as seen in the pic. And they were adamant that I understood that. Never saw that before. So I was about as far away from my room as one could get, while there were several empty spots right in front of my door. Other than that, the room was clean and the double bed was comfortable.
Beautiful spot in convenient location. My son and spouse vacation their yearly. The fall rates are great. Stayed there at one of the many cottages. The cottage was self contained and well equipped for cooking and comfort. Nice grounds and very friendly and helpful staff. Book early as it gets filled up fast.
The rooms were spacious but the cleanliness was not that good. We could see balls of dust on the floor and the bed covers didn't seem that clean. The water was very weak with the hot water suddenly stopping for a few minutes in the shower and then coming back for a short time only. I would not recommend this place.
Lovely place. Clean and quiet. Great amenities and close to everything.
I had to think about what I was going to say for this review. Arriving on Prince Edward Island on Victoria Day weekend, I was expecting more hotels, motels, bed & breakfast and cottages to be open. Granted, 2019 spring has been difficult... It has been cold and wet and I'm sure that has set everybody back in their schedule for renovations and cleanup and preparation of tourists. So when we arrived to the island and my friend wanted to go to a couple of places he had been too many years before and found that even though the brochure said they should be open and they were not we were disappointed. It was getting late and we needed a place to stay. We were in Cavendish and saw this large looking place. Large main building, some back offices and which looked like cottages in the back. But no cars. We weren't sure if it was open. We drove to the office out back and found two people in the office who said yes we could have a room tonight. We drove over to our room and opened the door. It smelled strongly of chemical cleaner Mr.Clean shower cleaner I think. To me, awful. It was cold.7C in the room. I'm not blaming them, it was extremely cool out all week damp and rainy and under 10 degrees... Why would you spend the money heating every single room there had to be a hundred of them when it's been a cold damp spring and the tourists haven't really arrived yet? That didn't bother us, we turned up the heat in the room and brought our luggage in and went out for dinner. We came back about an hour and a half later and the room was warming up. We wanted a hot bath. We tried the water. The water ran for a couple of minutes at less than lukewarm temperature. We went to the front desk and inquired about the problem and they came right out to the room to check it out for us and said the wsyer had to run for a few minutes the hot water had been running for about 6-7 minutes at this point. We understood that probably we were the first guests of the season so we tried to be extra patient. It was probably a large water heater and probably had to take extra time to heat up the amount of water for us. But after four hours we were tired of waiting. The water was still coming out cold and my friend went back to the office told them about the problem and we were moved to another room in the different part of the motel that apparently was using a different water heater. At this point it was about 10 p.m. and we were tired. The room was just as cold as the other room had been when we had come in hours earlier. We could literally see our breath. We turned on the hot water and at first it seemed to be quite warm for maybe 6 liters worth of water? Which sounds like a lot perhaps if you're used to drinking water but when it comes to filling a bathtub that's barely enough to get your baby toes wet... Then the water went ice cold. it was getting close to 11 p.m. by this point and I didn't care at all about a bath anymore or about a cold room... I just wanted to go to bed. I was a little perplexed about the proximity of the bed to the main window which did not have any sheer curtains, there was literally about 15 cm of a gap between the window which was just glass, no sheers for privacy, and your bed. So if you were laying on your bed or getting changed unless you drew the curtains which made the room completely black, anybody could see you were walking right by the front of your room. We were happy enough with the amenities that were provided in the room such as an abundance of shampoo and soap and lotion and towels, there was an in-room fridge, there was a microwave an ice machine just down the hall, our room had a TV and an in-room coffee maker. There bedside lamps were so high you couldn't reach them from bed. Because we were the only guests, breakfast was cook just for us. I felt that we should have been offered some kind of a discount off of our room for all of our troubles. We were not. We never even got a receipt for the room. The people were nice, the building has potential. It was just a bad combination of events
I have never had to write a negative review about the places that I've gone to .......so this is the first! Let me start by saying to call this a "Resort" is very deceiving. A basic motel would be a better decription. The mini fridge was very small on the floor and I had to get on my hands and knees to open the door to get anything! We asked for any chance of a small table to put it on......but never got one. Very dated old rooms, bathtub had a permenant stain, and the linens looked very old. The stairs to the upper level were so old that they looked very mouldy from the weather and need an update. We found out that the close walk to the beach was not close and that there was a charge when we got there! Beds were basic steal frame and very noisy to sleep on. Sometimes we got hot water coming out of both sink taps. This did stop after a little while. The shower made a screeching sound when turning up the pressure. All the rooms on both floors had to share ONE MICOWAVE that was on top of the ice machine.........that was almost empty. The second day..... when we got back to our room, the beds were not touched or changed. The coffee cups and glasses were not washed or replaced. This MOTEL and not a resort.......... probably had never been updated since the 60's. On line decription of this RESORT was very deceiving. Would not recommend!
The lady at the front desk said "Free WiFi but it depends on your luck to connect" I was confused for a sec until I found out I can't even search a thing using their WiFi! The WiFi connection is really terrible! Hair is everywhere in the bathroom, maybe from the previous person or staff, i don't know~ soundproof is awful cause you can hear someone talking from the next room~ the good side is the bed is comfy and location is great but you might have to reconsider to stay in this "resort" since the quality is not what I expected~
