A true Toronto gem. Easily the best jazz bar in town. What a true jazz bar is meant to be, intimate, unpretentious, all about the music. Still one of my favourites hangs and one of the nest spots in town for live performances. Get the sliders when you're there, they are heavenly!!
It's a really nice place to go out for a date. The music is good if you like jazz. We went there on a Saturday night. The sliders were nothing special but the appetizer with the wild mushrooms on bread was really good. We had to pay a $15 cover charge each to get in. Normally I would give three stars but because of the service and the band Ill give a 4.
Such a vibe! Didnt like that there is a cover charge because we came late and only caught 2 songs and still had to pay to hang out... but in winter your options are limited and the music was amazing. Crowd is also more mature so it felt good to be there.
The food was delicious, the music and the atmosphere was amazing. It was little bit crowded for post COVID. It has a $15 entrance fee. I recommend to make a reservation if you like to sit down. If not, by around 11, some of the seats will be empty, you may be able to sit on those. We went there on Friday night and Alison Young and her band were amazing.
We had one of the best nights here!!! The live band was amazing and the food delicious !! You need to try the Wild Mushroom Devil Toast! Great time at a great price! You should make a reservation if you want a table. If not, you can drop by and stand around the bar.
A lovely way to enjoy some blues and some jazz! Our server and the owner were so kind—it made our experience that much more special. The cocktails are expensive, but delicious. The food is also so good—I got the mushroom pizza and it was perfection. The vibe is the reason to go; it’s very chill and has some wonderful music. We suggest going to dinner so that you have the table for the entire night.
We missed live jazz so decided to go to The Reservoir. We made a reservation last week for last night, Friday night. The musicians were phenomenal and didn't disappoint. The singer was awsome! True talent! We felt welcomed on the phone and at the entrance. The seating was spaced perfectly, yet cozy. Serving staff were efficient and super friendly. Food was 5 stars! Fine ingredients, tasty, and good variety of options considering that they just opened last week. The cocktails were perfect. Grapefruit Martini was my favourite but the bartender was happy to make whatever drink your heart desires. Prices were reasonable too. The crowd was a good mix, young and old. Highly recommend it if you're looking for an upscale jazz night with fine food.
Very cool underground bar. Good cocktail selection, a decent amount of seating. Saw an amazing jazz band play for a few hours. I think cover was $20?
the ambience was so good - and the best thing abt the bar is the live music! It was super exciting and enjoyable in the same time! Plus, the Martinis and the cocktails are so good! They are very diverse, in terms of flavour and strength! Would visit again!!
Great place for live music. The setting doesn't allow for many tables to be facing the stage, so if you want to watch the show, you have very little options. Food is decent.
