Story

From humble beginnings, The Rex Hotel Jazz & Blues Bar has grown into a musical mecca presenting 19 shows per week.
Since the late '80s, the Rex has been at the forefront of Toronto's thriving local jazz scene. The casual atmosphere, eclectic mix of retro-chic decor, and an exciting variety of draught beer combine to make The Rex feel like a second home.
At The Rex, we stay true to our motto: "More Great Jazz than anywhere else, all the time!"

I absolutely love this place. I visited Toronto in 2019 and they had a live band, as usual. I’ll be back this year, hoping the pandemic comes to an end soon. Stay strong you guys!
We had the best time having drinks and listening to some amazing jazz music by Red Hot Ramble. Such a great afternoon. Wouldn't expect to have such good live music playing in the afternoon, it was a really great surprise. Tap list is great, lots of interesting beers, and food looked really good.
Fairly clean. Quiet except for noisy a/c.
It was a great experience overall. I hesitated before we arrived due to covid-19, but they have done perfect cleaning before our arrival. We felt safe when we leave the hotel.
Great sport for jazz after work and into the evening. Looking forward to catch some jazz there soon.
This is a great venue with some incredible jazz. My family and I went to see the Bob Brough Quartet and were blown away. There's good seating throughout the place: service was great and they have a nice selection of craft beer.
For the restaurant/bar. Super nice vibe. We were sitting in an awkward area where we couldn't see much of the band/musicians, but the music was good. Food was decently priced and good portions. Highly recommend the chili. Enjoyed it overall.
Great music. Relaxed atmosphere. Only place in Toronto to consistently have jazz!
Perfect location for touring Toronto. Walking distance to almost everything. The room was very simple with a private bathroom. Fell asleep listening to the Jazz from the bar downstairs. Great music! Great food! I would definitely stay here again.
