This place was the best part of our two day trip to red wing… The bartender was the most attentive, friendly person that we’ve ever met… She made the best suggestions for drinks that we were unfamiliar with and each one was catered to our tastes…Lori you are a class act!
Gem of a restaurant in downtown Redwing. Started with a cheese platter. We chose the blue cheese. We love blue cheese, but the star was the chutney that accompanied it. We are not sophisticated, so we rolled up the cheese in the provided lettuce and dang, it was good. We chose to split the rib eye medium rare and the salmon. Both were cooked to perfection. The rib eye was juicy and tender with all the delicious fat it should have. The salmon was on a bed of vegetables mixed with bacon and an avocado spread. Delicious is all I have to say. The knowledgeable waitress steered me in the right direction with the wine pairings. Everything was perfect. Price wise, this was very reasonable. Especially compared to our usual downtown mpls excursions.

Excellent food by great cooks! Best eatery in Red Wing after 5pm opening. Great bartender Lori!! A little unknown treasure if you're not from there. Nice size bar for gathering. Can accommodate large groups for dining too! Another place to stop every time in the area.
We came from the west coast for a special occasion; we were married here in Red Wing 31 years ago. Our wedding reception was at the St James Hotel/1988. This truly was MEMORY LANE! Thank you for a great experience. The food, the venue, the wines were so good. Our service was TOP NOTCH. So friendly and personal. You made tonight a gift!
We thoroughly enjoyed The Port. Great food, reasonable prices. I made a reservation but you probably don't have to unless there is some sort of major event occurring in Red Wing. Both our meals were delicious. Definitely ask about the fish of the day. They have a bar there as well so drinks aren't limited to what is on the menu. Service was excellent. We were well taken care of, but our waitress was not intrusive. Definitely recommend this restaurant.
Fantastic place for wine, cocktails and Scotch. Beautiful atmosphere, the servers are attentive and efficient. Can hardly wait until the restaurant opens again. This is a very COVID aware place for drinks. You can feel comfortable.
My husband and I ate at the port this evening to celebrate our anniversary and he couldn't have chosen a more perfect place! The ambiance is perfect- quite, cozy and elegant and the service was fantastic. In addition to great wines and cocktails, the Port offers mocktails on the menu. We shared the halibut which was seasoned perfectly and cooked to perfection and also enjoyed the beef tenderloin- perfectly cooked and seasoned with beautiful plating and sides. Everything was extremely reasonably priced and we will definitely be back!
Wife made a reservation for my birthday and we were excited to make our way down to Red Wing to try some of the local fare. The staff seemed overwhelmed despite there being empty seats in the house. Claiming that there was a huge show that folks were clambering to get to. Every stage of the meal we had to wait an exorbitant amount of time. Drinks? 15 minutes into the meal. Appetisers? 35 minutes. Main course? Over an hour after sitting down and by then we were no longer hungry and the main course was wasted. Now, I'm no stranger to waiting. I once waited an hour for the last bus in a blizzard but once the bus came I only had to pay $3 for a fare. I would expect at the prices they charge for the service to be a little more snappy. Even the waiter taking the check was slow and this was after most of the folks had been gone for an hour.
