The Pitcher Inn

Story

The Pitcher Inn has been welcoming guests since the early 1850s. Originally a simple country Inn where weary travelers venturing over three treacherous mountain paths from Granville, Lincoln and Roxbury would rest. The Inn evolved over the decades, by providing hearty meals, welcoming guests that chose the village of Warren as a quaint and quiet vacation spot and eventually becoming the Relais & Chateaux it is today.

Time, however, has been kind in preserving the Inn's original hospitality and grace. Today's Pitcher Inn epitomizes Vermont's charms with each room representing selected aspects of the state; its history, character, surroundings, sport and social structure intertwined with the comforts expected by discerning travelers.

Our location, nestled in the heart of central Vermont's Green Mountains, at the foot of Sugarbush Resort, makes it an ideal base to explore the cultural, historic, scenic and active multi-day pursuits that the area boasts year around.

We look forward to perpetuating the Inn's hospitality by welcoming you soon.

Really cool place - it feels very cozy downstairs. We made a reservation ahead of time and they called the morning of to confirm. I got the pork with brussel sprouts and lentils and my husband got the steak with substituted fries. The beer/wine list was all Vermont made. We ended with the chocolate dessert. The food was wonderful and the service was great!

Very disappointing evening. Joined my parents for their 47th anniversary; the have gone to the Pitcher Inn every year for years. Reservations were made weeks ago, specifically for the dining room, and not for the basement bar. Drove an hour. When we arrived, we were told that there was a party in the main dining room, and they were not provisioned for a full service. We would be seated in the basement bar with a limited menu; the options turned out to be rather bland compared with their usual offerings. The manager had allegedly "tried to get in touch with us," though we have no evidence of this. They gave us a complementary bottle of prosecco, but no other consideration. The situation should never have arisen, and, in my opinion, more should have been done at a restaurant (usually) of high quality to try to correct the situation once it arose.

An amazing place, in an amazing location. Very friendly staff always willing to help with any query. Food in both the restaurant and bar is excellent. Breakfast is one of the best I've ever had.

Extremely high quality hotel (also pretty expensive). Search online and you have articles written about. Each room has a unique theme. The whole place has a really nice antique, rustic, authentic Vermont vibe. However, the best part of the Pitcher Inn is Tracks, the casual dinning restaurant downstairs. With low ceilings, a big fireplace and everything made of stone or wood, it has a very comfortable and relaxed (but well appointed) atmosphere. Seating is limited with several unique setups such as the couches with coffee table in front of the fireplace and the wine vault. Reservations are required and fill early.

Had dinner and drinks at Tracks. Split an order of calamari and squash soup and had the skirt steak. All of it was quite tasty.
