The Pillars

This place is so beautiful. Live music in a bar within a sprawling mansion. Absolutely breathtaking walking throughout the whole establishment.

The best way to describe this place is "penny wise, but pound foolish. The whole experience started with the parking with a big sign with an arrow pointing toward where were supposed to park, but caution tape all over the area it was pointing to, with NOBODY to direct traffic. VERY confusing!!! Then, the wedding reception guests were not being allowed into the venue until 5:00pm for a 5:00pm reception. Fine, but that day was 90 degrees outside and there were several elderly guests there. After we were let in, the bathrooms were horrible with no paper towels and only 2 female stalls for 150 people. The doors on the stalls go all the way to the floor, but the stall lock wasnt functional. I did my business with one hand holding the door closed. During the reception, they ran out of food and then they ran out of liquor. None of the pitchers of water had any ice in them, and I overheard one of the staff saying something along the lines of "we have someone going to town to get ice". The whole place could use a coat of paint, with several exposed boards that were uncoated. (Sorry, my other half is a trim carpenter and he pointed out several major structual flaws). The landscaping is horrendous, with birdocks and weeds everywhere (sorry, Im a horticulturist). This place has a tremendous opportunity to be classy and elegant, but I certainly will not be holding my own wedding reception there...

Prepare to be pampered! Hans and Tony made our group of weary cyclists feel cared for and welcome. We enjoyed this amazing home and all of the amenities!
