Ernst's Lake Breeze Marina

When you can't beat the competition, you buy them out. Ernst's is the only full-service marina left on the Oak Orchard River. They often open late and close early, which is not good for a seasonal business or charter captains that start early and fish late. Be careful when getting fuel since their low grade marine fuel contains ethanol. Although newer engines can handle the ethanol, older engines frequently found in boats that are 15+ years old are slowly damaged by it. This likely contributed to the accelerated demise of both engines in my dad's boat. They also installed the replacement engines since they have the only repair shop on the river. This work went $6k over the initial quote, and multiple follow up visits were needed because of incomplete work. Bottom line, you don't go here because you want to. You go to Ernst's because you don't have any other options unless you go to another port.
