The chicken and waffles were delicious! I’ve never had sweet potato waffles—very interesting. Perfectly cooked chicken. Great mimosa. My husband said it was the best biscuits and gravy he’s ever had! Will definitely be back to give dinner a try!
Love the look and feel of this place, very unique and original and the same can be said about the food as well. The food was great, smaller menu but everything we had was right on point. Prices and portions seemed fair. Only critiques are we were told 30-45 min for a wait that ended up over an hour and the music playing inside seemed a constant battle against everyone shouting inside to hear each other. Sound dampening in the ceiling or cutting the music off when that busy would go a long way but even loud the atmosphere and food were great.entrance
Been meaning to get here for far too long. Wish I'd come sooner because it was excellent! Brunch on Saturday was lively, but we somehow timed it right and there was no wait. Had the "Benny and the Jets": braised short rib, poached egg, brioche, hollandaise, and bacon jam. It was full of flavor and delicious! Service was also friendly, and the space was eclectic and cool. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.
The People’s Kitchen is a great spot in Lansing. The food was made from scratch and it really showed in the quality. We stopped here on our way to Detroit and ate off the happy hour menu - limited options but we both had really great meals. The atmosphere was very familial and the staff was welcoming. The margarita was great and there was a great beer selection. We will be looking for opportunities to come back in the future!
I think this is easily one of the top 3 best restaurants in Lansing. Everything I’ve ever eaten here has been nothing less than amazing. The menu changes up quite a bit which is cool because there’s always something new to try, however It’s possible to go in there expecting to get something that is no longer on the menu. The peoples kitchen is a place to get some fancy looking great tasting food for a fair price.
So good. Made both my girlfriend and I say "mmmmm" involuntarily. I had a sea bass special and she had a roast chicken. Excellent cocktails as well. "Peas be with you" sounded weird with it's inclusion of pea flavor, but it was delightful! I had brunch here previously and it was also delicious.
Walked over here after dropping my car off at the dealership across the street. So happy I did. What a great place. Friendly staff, quick service. My food was amazing. The crispy potatoes are perfect, and the slaw they put on the chicken sandwich is amazing. Would definitely recommend!
Definitely worth checking out! Brunch tasted great! Service was super fast, even though they were slammed on a Saturday morning-we got right in and seated. The decor is unique, and the atmosphere is fun. Lots of stuff to look at and take in. The pork belly was delicious! My husband had the "Have to have it hash" and I had the "Crushin it." We would both come back- for sure!
Had dinner here tonight and it was absolutely phenomenal! We started with the mad platter that had a delicious assortment of meats, cheeses, and pickled veggies and got the waygu steak- the BEST steak I have ever had! Left with a piece of the chocolate mousse cake which I can’t wait to try in a little bit! The staff is great at their jobs and the food is the best in lansing- can’t wait to come back
Ate lunch here for the first time today after doing the escape room downstairs check them out as well. The food was phenomenal, the drinks were delicious, and we absolutely plan to be back again for the breakfast or dinner menus!
