Really awesome experience Ron S. At the gun counter was super helpful from ammunition to Camping Equipment he really went the extra mile to get what we needed. Great Customer service

Great customer service employees were very helpful and friendly and the woman who I assume was the owner was very knowledgeable and very appreciative for our business unlike the bigger box stores.

Very disappointed. Called outdoorsman to see if they could match a price by one of the other places I purchase my guns. They put me on hold and called the other place. When the original store found out I was looking at purchasing somewhere else, they rescinded the price they quoted me. Screwed out of a hundred and fifty bucks. Shame on the outdoorsman. I will never purchase ANYTHING from them again.

It's nice to have an outdoors store in such a small town. Saves me a trip to Nampa or Boise. Staff is usually quite pleasant.

I purchase an AR-15 rifle from the Outdoorsman about a year ago on June 18th. As soon as I got home I took the rifle out to my back 40 to shoot it and nothing, the rifle had malfunctioned. So I tried a few more times but something was wrong with it so I took it back home and read the manual after examining the rifle and picking it up the front gas block system came loose and fell off. I put everything back in the box and that same evening I went back to the Outdoorsman and I live about 2 hours from Ontario so I don't go into town often. After returning it the owners immediately said it was my fault that the rifle was broke even though I had done nothing to it and hadn't even shot it. The Asian lady who is the owner started getting very rude with me and even insulted my intelligence. She finally took back the AR-15 rifle which at that point I just wanted my money back not even my rifle fixed. But instead they only gave me store credit so they still got my money in the end which is just ridiculous. After taking the rifle back I had forgot the magazine at home which I had took out when I tried to shoot the rifle, I told the lady that I would bring back her magazine as soon as I came back into town, keep in mind that I live about 2 hours from Ontario like I said before and only go in when I have to for weekly groceries and such. About a week later I returned the AR-15 magazine and the store owners were instantly mad at me. They said that I was at fault for returning them their magazine when I could have just kept it. Since then I have gone into the Outdoorsman a few times and every time I get stared at by the staff and followed around like some sort of criminal. So I haven't gone back into that store since just recently which it probably has been about half a year. I took in a rifle of mine that I wanted to get cash out of to put towards a pickup and I was greeted by the same people from before, the Asian lady who I think owns the store and the young male who is their main gun salesman I believe. The lady of course brought up the situation from a year or so ago and offered me $300 for my pretty much brand new rifle that cost upwards of $800 then she didn't want to but it from me at all. I left the store and decided that they will never have my business again unless new owners but it which I doubt would happen. I think that a few people on their staff (not all) are corrupt and rude. Also just to add in that their prices are sky high! You're basically paying for a product that cost the same as Cabela's but of lower quality. Remembering back to when myself and my sister both purchase handguns for carry. It was on June 18th of 2016 and we both got two handguns, a Smith and Wesson M&P shield in 9mm and the other in 40 caliber. Both are great guns that Smith makes and I know a lot of people choose them for conceal carry. I have shot these guns that were owned by other people (one's who got them from Cabela's or other gun stores) and their guns worked flawlessly. When we purchased them from the Outdoorsman in Ontario our guns could not fire any round reliably. We used multiple types of ammunition from expensive carry loads to cheap training Blazer brass and had trouble with our guns functioning. One gun had problems jamming the other could not cycle a round and one even shot off without the trigger being pulled. These guns would never do that in any other case, like I said before I have handled them who belonged to others and they were good pistols. Straight from the box ours were bad, we eventually sold them off and they were returned to the store they came from. In my opinion I think the Ontario Outdoorsman knew that their guns had a problem, they claim to test them before buying which should not happen and this problem could have came from an employee who didn't like us.
