Was starving and found this gem.nThe food was amazing. I had a delicious spinach salad with grilled chicken. They accommodated my dietary needs perfectly.nThe service was friendly, fast, and efficient.nThe patio was nice, but there was a boisterous and very loud group that made it almost impossible to have a conversation at our table. It was a Friday night,so I guess it was party time.
Really enjoyed brunch here. The staff was really friendly from Micah the host to Ruby our server. Really made us feel like people and guests rather than just customers.nnThe pulled pork was great as was the Hollandaise sauce. The fried corn bread was ok, but not really my thing.nnThe breakfast burrito was good.nnOne of my favorite things was the little things about drinks that become big. The iced tea was clearly kept cold, so ice just kept it there rather than melting, cooling and diluting it. Also when I asked for more, Ruby brought me a carafe. I ended up drinking two of these and had ice left over. The coffee was hot enough that my wife could put lots of cold cream in it and it was still hot. Little things, but big additions.nnThey were really busy and full with the brunch crowd, but still were attentive and didn’t make us feel rushed. Instead it just added a festive atmosphere.nnOne suggestion, give an option for real maple syrup rather than maple flavored syrup. Charge extra for it, because it’s more expensive but it’s worth it.nnSo we liked everything so much that we came back in our way out of town and had another great meal and good conversation with Brian the front of house manager and weekday server.nnThe loaded Biscuits and gravy were great. The biscuits are light, flaky and flavorful and gravy is delicious.nnUnfortunately they were out of Chicken Fried Steak, but the breaded chicken breast was a great substitute and great. The hash browns were also what hash browns should be.
Great food and decent prices. The outdoor patio is great too. Only problem is they charge an extra 4% for credit cards when paying bill, which is a little high.
Talk about yum!!!! It was fun having a southern flavor fest over here in the west! You really should try this place out. The menu actually sounded so good with its descriptions that it was hard for me to choose. The southern flare was a hit with me, and I felt like it could have given the chefs in the South a run for their money. I had the chicken and waffles, which were off the hook good. The chicken, in fact, was a stand-alone flavor and didn't need anything on it, but when I added the house made syrup...BAM!! my taste buds went berzerk. The syrup had a spicy kick to it. NICE!nnOur waiter Ben had the whole floor and I could see everyone there was well tended. He was great great, with good suggestions on food, hours of busyness, and best time to visit there and hear some live music. He said their breakfast is amazing, so I'm going to go back for that, but the place is small, so he said you should call ahead because it gets packed. I'm thinking of course because the food is really good here. I want to try the shrimp and grits next time.nnOh, and I ordered rice and beans to take home because they are his Grandma's recipe. They were better than some I've had in New Orleans, South Carolina and Tennessee! They came with jalapeño cornbread too, and homemade whipped honey butter!!! Uggggg my mouth is watering again, just talking about this. This place is gooood. I would give it 6 !
The food is fresh, with in house made sauces and very flavorful. We ate here for brunch- 5 people including mimosa’s for the table - $133 with tip. I felt it was great value. The portions were quite large and every bite was fabulous.
