Ate at the bar and the service from Taylor was great. The crab dip was excellent but the Digby scallops and shrimp were disappointing. The Alfredo sauce was “burnt” tasting on two tries. It looked good but tasted awful. I should have tried the cranberry coconut chicken as recommended.
Good food and nice staff. Love all the different options and flavours. I got the Korean chicken burger--could use more cabbage and other flavours involved but still very good!!
This is a great place to eat and drink. Food is fantastic and you can try four different beers at once. Service is also friendly. I strongly recommend.
The food is just amazing, really love it. The attention from the personal is a really big plus. Some of the best burgers in town. It also has a bar so looks to be a really good place to have a drink.
Well, after a short hiatus of staffing issues, menu changes and long waits I’m pleased to say they are back to full steam! Service today was outstanding and the food was just amazing. Thankfully things are back to “ better than before” the issues. Well done! Always out favourite stop in Truro. See you again very soon and thank you
The food was really good, it did take a while for my drink to come but the rest of the table had their drinks super quick. There was a ton of flies but the front door was open due to it being a nice day & the wait staff going in and out to the patio. Overall a great spot & will definitely be back the next time we are in Truro!
Wonderful cozy place, Gluten Free options, really good food! There’s a nice balcony to eat outside too
We happened upon The Nook and Cranny after another place that was recommended turned out to be closed on Sundays. We were happy we did. We sat outside and enjoyed some Buffalo chicken wings, and a delicious chowder with mussels, salmon, shrimp, clams, celery, onions and other spices. We both enjoyed our own flight of four 5-ounce beers. I recommend the Salty Dog Blueberry Wheat with blueberries in the bottomed the glass, assuming it’s in season as it was for us. Our server was charming and gave us some good touring recommendations as an added bonus.
On a day trip to Truro, we decided to stop by a local place for lunch. We were drawn in to Nook and Cranny by their menu - lots of comfort food favourites. When we arrived, it was busy which is always a good sign. Check in was smooth and standard - showed our vax records and ID. We were seated fairly quickly at a super cute spot right in the window. We were greeted quickly by our server, who gave us menus and drinks. It took me a little while longer to choose what I wanted - so many things on the menu sounded amazing it was hard to make a decision. I settled on the grilled cheese with a side of tomato soup, and my husband settled on the burger. He also had a glass of the local brewery beer on tap - which he said was really good! Our food came quickly enough it wasn't too long of a wait, but not so fast you wonder if it was pre-made, ha! Our food was on point. I love food. I speak in food. And this grilled cheese with bacon jam was everything I needed. Their tomato soup was also excellent. Good depth of flavours, excellent texture, not too heavy. I would've taken a bucket of it home. The real compliment here comes from my husband though, who said their fries are "the best he's ever had outside of England." Nook and Cranny staff - please know how high of an endorsement this is. He finished every. Single. French fry. He didn't even use ketchup! I am not a fan of French fries - but - yours are worth writing home about. Big nod also goes to them for openly supporting other local businesses ie, bakeries, butchers, breweries and giving them acknowledgement amd credit in the menu. That's a classy way of running your business, and you should be proud of your team. Only piece of feedback here is that we felt a little forgotten in the front. After our server dropped of our food, it was nearly an hour before they came back to check in. At two different times they were even at the tables next to us checking in. I had really wanted to try dessert, as I can imagine they knock that out of the park too, but by the time they came back it was getting a bit late for us. Food - quality, quantity and selection - gets a solid 6/5 star rating from us and we will absolutely return again. The hour drive is worth it.
As I looked at my phone while sitting in a subway parking lot, I saw a review for the nook and cranny. I had to ask myself why was I contemplating Subway? I stopped over at the nook & cranny for my first visit. I just stopped in for a quick cup of chowder and a beer. I enjoyed the chowder and the toasted focaccia it was served with. A quick look around and the place seems very comfortable and welcoming. The staff is great and the food was super hot. A nice place to stop into next time I'm in Truro.
