The Monterey - Taco Tuesdays! My wife and I recently visited The Monterey in Aurora to celebrate our 19th anniversary together, and we had a great time! The atmosphere was welcoming and the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was tasty, and there were plenty of options to choose from on the menu. We also happened to visit on industry night, and some items on the menu were priced at only $12. Both of us particularly enjoyed the Birria Tacos $20. The prices were reasonable for the quality of the food and service. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend The Monterey to anyone looking for a fun and tasty dining experience in Aurora. #TomEatsYummyFoodBecauseWhyNot
Went here for a wedding anniversary. The server was very attentive and knew the menu inside and out. She greeted us with a warm welcome and introduce the restaurant along with its feature dishes. Every dish was nicely created and the portion size was perfect. Would definitely come back
I went for brunch with a friend. We ordered the salmon tartar to share, frittata and the french toast. I ordered the frittata - it was extremely dry in terms of texture. It was overcooked which made the egg lose its moisture. The french toast my friend ordered was REALLY good. I tried a bite. I will likely go back to try other items - not the frittata!
Food - My friends and I came for brunch. We got three different fishes: the waffle and chicken. Chillaquiles, and the Chorizo Hash. We enjoyed all of it, and I tried a bit of the others and found it flavourful, with great textures. The presentation was great with plates/bowls! I would definitely get their food again. Service - It was top notched. We had a reservation, and they had our table ready right away. Our host was friendly, and our waitress Mary was excellent. I have no complaints. Ambiance - Light with wood accents and a bit of vacation vibe. I like the furniture and decor. It was clean and they had a washroom. Accessibility- There is parking close by and the doors are wide enough. Would recommend as a Brunch place if you are in Aurora.
We visited for Saturday brunch, and the space is very cute, bright, and spacious. Definitely a nice restaurant to get together with friends! We tried the birria tacos, chorizo hash, and pancakes. Personally, the standout was the tacos, though the pancakes were pretty fluffy and yummy too. Portion sizes were not overly huge, so if you're hungry, it'd be best to grab a few things to share. They also had a nice selection of mimosas, cocktails, and juices for brunch, which is always nice. Service was friendly, although food took a bit to get out; to be fair, it doesn't seem like the kitchen is overly big, and we were a somewhat large group and the restaurant was busy with many guests.
This place is awesome. Great vibe, awesome food and service. Fun drink menu, too. Has the buzz of a downtown T.O. hot spot, just in Aurora. I mean, what would expect from the owner of the Fishbone restaurants. We love this place.
Outstanding!! Toronto vibe in the middle of Aurora. A spot like this is so needed in our area. Excellent drinks, food & service. I’ve already been twice for drinks & tapas, and again for brunch. Highly recommend & will definitely be going back. My only feedback is to change the signage out front to attract more customers, doesn’t match the amazing aesthetic inside
Brilliant is an understatement My friends and I tried The Monterey today for the first time . All I can say is wow !! Chef Pedro and team have done an excellent job . It like a more laid back fine dining with amazing cocktail choices . A perfect spot to enjoy some delicous food and a good cocktail after a long week . We tried the wings of course the sauce they use on them is like nothing around . Absolutely delicious. My friends ordered the Birria Tacos , Seared Japanese Eggplant and Polenta Bravas. They really enjoyed aswell My personal favourite cocktail was the wake up call. Comes with a Roasted marshmallow on top. I ordered the Grilled Flat Iron steak with homemade Chinichurri Another amazing restaurant by another culinary genius in Pedro Aurora needs a place like this I'm in complete ahh !! The service was beyond excellent aswell . ANDREW went above and beyond for our table . Aurora you need to check this place out !!!
We dined in yesterday with a group of 6 and we all agreed that the food and drinks were phenomenal!! We are hoping the hours of operation extend on weekends as 10pm last call for the kitchen seemed early for a tapas place. The hot honey chicken, squid, fingerling potatoes, tuna tartare, shrimp were all incredible. We will definitely be back :
Really nice restaurant with delicious tapas dishes and very friendly staff. Definitely a place I will return to!Recommended dishesPolenta Bravas, Seared Tuna, Seared Japanese Eggplant
