Best old fashioned in Wisconsin. There is a science behind this drink. The owner, John, takes personal pride in teaching everyone behind his bar how to make this well loved drink properly. The Monarch House is a gem along the Mississippi.

Are you kidding me...... Waitress met us with major attitude and told us that our food was going to take awhile because another table was getting their Food. No problem, we'll have a couple drinks, but she wanted to argue about the ingredients in a drink instead. Rude server and would not come back. We had a drink and took our business elsewhere- Bad bad not a good Wisconsin bar. Please avoid at all cost. Sad we have been there before had great time.

Awesome pub. Very unique. Great atmosphere. Service was great and servers kind. Food really good. Tasty brewed beer!

So Fun! Great atmosphere! Wonderful hospitality! Awesome service! Excellent Irish Coffee! Who could ask for anything more?

We were very pleased with the authentic Irish fare we had at The Monarch Public House, Fountain City's oldest bar and restaurant. My beloved had Bubble and Squeak - a piping hot dish of mashed potatoes, butter, cheese, roast beef, cabbage and onion. It was delicious. I had the Reuben. The meat on my sandwich was a bit dry and it could have used a bit more dressing, but it was still excellent. We ate outside on the patio because the weather was so nice, but the inside has a lot of character and charm. We had the Fountain City Brew flight of beers. They were fun to try and tasted great. Our favorite was the Porter.
