This is the most amazing church I have ever been to. They don’t shy away from telling the truth. But they do it in such a winsome way. The ministry team really cares. They have significantly impacted my spiritual development over the past 20 years.nnIncredible kids programs. Dynamic music. Great preaching.
The sermons are very concerning. Last Sunday, the start of advent season, the week of hope the pastor spoke of the Garden of Eden and the first sin. This is highly unusual, it was very sexist, and you could see the crowd leaving quieter and more somber than at a funeral. This is not the way to start the Christmas season.nnThis is not the first time I have experienced problematic sermons here. I have attended ones where people were lectured on not giving enough because the church was in the red, again during the week of Hope. I have heard disturbing sermons not relatable to the listeners because the pastor came from a background of privilege.nnThe energy here is missing something. I attend many churches throughout Canada and I am saddened that one of Ottawa’s largest churches is missing a key ingredient.
Coming here has honestly changed my life in many ways. I've made wonderful friendships and beautiful experiences. I mainly attend the YA but even on Sundays I enjoy myself very much
I like the service on Sunday but I’ve found it hard to form any meaningful connections to grow in my faith. I am very isolated when it comes to having people in my circle that are Christian and want to grow in faith so I was hoping to find that in church. I signed up for the met 25-35 group and was hoping to get in to a small group to form a good circle but they have all been full and not really advertised. I will be looking for a church where I can form more connections as I feel It’s not enough for me to just attend service on Sunday and have no connections.
You feel the presence of God in the people. Very welcoming, a great vivid community, they offer lots of services to young and old.nThey spread the gospels through their great community work.nAwana club is great for the kids little ones up to 12 yrs.nMany activities for the youth as well.
