Visited here over the summer and fell in love with the architecture and the beautiful stories & artwork throughout the church. The people working here were so personable and kind. I had the opportunity to walk around and learn, sit to pray and take part in the daily Mass. I entered at a great time late afternoon. It wasn’t too busy for the first half of my visit and I had the opportunity to really take my time and walk around to be able to see as much as I could.nnThere’s no cost to enter, the church takes donations.nnA must-see if you love history, art, detail and architecture!

Inside the basilica, I feel comfortable and find the opportunity to speak with God, letting go of worries and recharging. This place seems made for restoring inner balance and bringing relief.nnI consider Notre-Dame one of the best sights in Ottawa for those seeking a spot for solitude and calm. The beautiful architecture, harmonious space, and warm atmosphere make it essential for spiritual relaxation. It’s a place for anyone looking to find peace and inner strength — I highly recommend it to anyone in need of a quiet, inspiring moment.
What a gorgeous Church! Reminds me of a couple I seen in Italy. They have a lovely little café in the basement with lots of options. There was a baptism happening while we were visiting, which was adorable.
It’s a beautiful and historic church in the heart of Ottawa. There’s no admission fee, instead, you can make a donation to the church.nnWhether you’re visiting or coming here to say prayers, it’s definitely worth the trip.nnThe painted glasses, the craftsmanship and all the details included in them is so impressive; I could spend hours in the church, admiring the artwork. The ceiling is the most impressive part about this beautiful cathedral; I loved it.
If you like historical places I guess you may visit this building. I went there in summer as well as in winter. What I like the most about it is the story of the art inside it. You can have a tour inside it and take photos, and videos, or just pray. It is close to the National Gallery of Canada, so you can visit both on the same day.
