I ordered a lovely mild chicken butter curry dinner, i have always enjoyed this dish and typically dine in. I figured i would try to skip the dishes tonight as i am exhausted from moving the last two days. Curry, rice and naan bread blew me away as they are amazing. Prior to my order i looked up what their strawberry shake looked like and found their method of parts used to make it wasn’t available to consumers. I was served a strawberry “milk shake” which resembles a store bought strawberry-milk from a gas station in a standard mango-tree sized clear cup; it has a little froth on the top and appeared very ‘liquidy. I expressed online that the drink is made with poor quality followed by calling the store to ask how they make their milkshakes hoping perhaps i was wrong. I was told it is comprised of strawberry’s, strawberry syrup, milk and ice-cream were the ingredients. I expressed my disappointment that the drink appeared “watery” in texture and was met with a remark “we don’t use water to make them?” i remarked that there doesn’t appear to be icecream used which would result in the “watery texture” or that the milkshake had been sitting long before my order was ready- she responded awkwardly making sure i know she hadnt used water despite this not being my true complaint. She missed my point, this was a case of false advertising or misleading consumers. She seemed lovely and very kind sounding over the phone but missed my complaint entirely. I have dined-in multiple times in the past as i love it there but have never been served a milkshake without a trace of ice-cream involved in the ingredients before. Not sure what could remedy this but i suggested i would dine-in soon so i can make a more personable complaint.
Visited Mango Tree in Lethbridge recently and left feeling disappointed. The restaurant looked inviting from the outside, but the experience didn’t live up to expectations once inside.nThe ambiance was okay—simple decor and relatively clean seating, but nothing particularly warm or welcoming. It felt like the staff were stretched thin or distracted, which made the whole place seem unorganized.nService was the biggest issue. It took an unreasonably long time just to place an order, and even longer for the food to arrive. No one checked in during the wait or offered updates, which made the delay even more frustrating. When the food finally came, it wasn’t worth the wait; the flavors were underwhelming and portions small for the price.nGiven the slow service and lackluster food, it’s hard to recommend this restaurant. If you’re hungry or short on time, it’s better to skip Mango Tree in Lethbridge—there are faster and friendlier places nearby.
I ordered the Tandoori Chicken from The Mango Tree through Uber Eats Order #4DCC9. The chicken was undercooked with visible red blood inside, making it unsafe to eat. This was very disappointing, especially for a dish that should be properly grilled and flavorful. I request the restaurant and Uber Eats to review this issue to ensure better food safety and quality control.
First off, I tried to order momos which they said would take 20 minutes. They later came out and said they didn’t even have them which I thought was strange. I then ordered the Mango Berry Cheesecake. It came out completely frozen with an icy texture. It tasted freezer burnt. When we brought up this issue to the server she said she would bring back a new one but instead came back with the same one now microwaved. This caused the tip of it to be melted while the inside of the cheesecake was still completely frozen. When we were leaving we mentioned this and she just said “Cheesecakes are meant to be frozen” which is just… not correct? My friends ordered the Rasmalai which they also said was not good and had a bad aftertaste. The Gulab Jaman was okay though. Overall, a bad experience and a waste of $16. Their food is good but I would not recommend their desserts.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was honestly one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had at an Indian restaurant.nnFrom the moment we walked in, the service felt completely disorganized. We waited several minutes just to be acknowledged, even though the restaurant wasn’t busy. The staff seemed uninterested and rushed, and it felt like customers were more of an inconvenience than a priority.nnThe food was even more disappointing. The butter chicken was watery and bland, lacking the rich flavor you’d expect. The naan arrived cold and rubbery, as if it had been sitting out for a long time. The biryani had barely any seasoning and tasted stale. For a cuisine known for bold spices and freshness, this meal was shockingly flavorless.nnTo make matters worse, our order was incorrect, and when we politely mentioned it, the response was dismissive with no real attempt to fix the issue. We waited far too long for refills and had to repeatedly ask for basic things like water and cutlery.nnThe restaurant itself also needed attention — tables were sticky, and the overall cleanliness left a lot to be desired.nnConsidering the prices, the experience was absolutely not worth it. Poor service, mediocre food, and lack of professionalism made this a place I will not return to or recommend to anyone
