Newly big, classy, and modern restaurant in town. They have different table settings for all types of group. Fair pricing, but the food isn't impressive; the seafood potato casserole isn't highly recommended. Friendly and professional staff
I’m currently at the restaurant while giving this review and all I can say is WOW. You get Amazing service right from when you enter the building. It’s not just your server, everyone else is really nice and accommodating. The food is A+, drink selection is exceptional, interior is nice and cozy. I have never gotten this kind of service anywhere else in PEI. Worth it and I’m definitely coming back. JANET, our server was exceptional
Ordered takeout and got the Surf ‘n Turf. The scallops were good although a tad on the dry side, but my main draw to for the order was the steak which I ordered rare, but it came much closer to a blue rare, and it appears as though I was given gravy instead of the demi. I would have given it a four star if this was a dine-in experience as mistakes do happen and it could have easily been corrected, but once you’re home with the meal there is literally nothing you can do about it, so it kind of ruins the experience that much more.
Great place for fresh seafood. Very nice dining room and great selection. Oysters and mussels tasted great.Food: 5/5
They changed the closest TV to what I call the Canadian Open Men's Tennis, so they get 5 stars just for that. I ordered Clam Strips with Roasted Potatoes and I thought it was a little light on the clams but they tasted good. We had Storm Chips in local barbeque spice and dill as an appetizer, the chips were plenty to share. They were a little spicy but not too hot. My wife ordered a wonderful Beet and Roasted Chick Peas Salad. They have a nice beer selection and the service was great. The strawberry rhubarb pie was less flavorful and the filling was tighter than we prefer. All in all we had a great lunch and experience.
The first time we went we got the surf & turf & the steak it was delicious! Atmosphere was amazing, I believe our servers name was Sue, she was exceptional! She recommended the sticky date bites for dessert and they were and 10/10. The first experience was wonderful! We went again last night & were very said to see the steak was no long an option. I got the steak sandwich & my partner got the seafood casserole. My steak sandwich was good but it had a soya sauce taste to it that I really wasn’t expecting, very salty. The seafood casserole was not what we were expecting, it was $23 for a bowl of potatoes, two shrimp & two scallops, no side, lucky he did order a Caesar salad because the casserole itself was not enough & it was incredibly disappointing for the price. I wish I was exaggerating but it was literally roasted potatoes, two shrimp & two scallops, majorly disappointing. We got mussels to start on both visits. Again with the second time we were there, they didn’t bring us side plates to put the shells & the mussels were quite sandy. It was a disappointing trip the second time around.
Went for dinner here tonight with my partner. We had the nachos, my partner had the lobster roll, and I had the chicken club. The food was great! The nachos are made with potato chips which is a nice change. Service was a tad slow, but they did seem to have a few larger tables. Great food, very nice staff, great restaurant!
We dined here for lunch and had a wonderful experience. All the food was fresh and delicious. My husband enjoyed the oyster rockafella to start. Our mains were also great. The chicken Parm sandwich is a must. I enjoyed the lobster grilled cheese and a side garden salad and the dressing was amazing. Their french fries are awesome. Also a must try. Sue was our server and she was fabulous. Made the entire lunch even more enjoyable.
I've never been disappointed with The Local. The food is always top notch and with good portion sizes, and the drinks are just as amazing. Not to mention their wait staff is some of the most friendly I've encountered. Oh and their "local sauce" is to die for.
I went a few months ago and the service was still slow - but I was pleasantly surprised at how much quicker service has picked up! As usual the staff were helpful and friendly, service was prompt, and the food was delicious!! Portion sizes are generous; the nachos were shared and there was more than enough food for us both! The atmosphere is an unusual blend of industrial-meets-pub although it works!, and the staff really do create a fun environment for enjoying a meal with friends!
