The Library Restaurant

Great food and atmosphere. Takes some time to get in and out so leave yourself a little extra time. The onion soup is amazing!

We stopped here with the intention on trying The Library's array of craft beers brewed on-site, but we disappointed to find that only three were available. The bartender was very friendly, and explained that the recent move-in day at the local university increased traffic and they ran out. Still a bummer that they didn't anticipate the annual event and brew more. The beers we did have were very tasty and well balanced. They also have "1919" Root Beer on tap, which is a "must-try" if you've never had it. The building is also very visually interesting and I could see myself hanging out there for a drink with a friend. We did not have the food.

The first time I came here I sat at the bar and only ordered a couple drinks so all was well. The second time I came in i dined in and it was a different experience. It was so dark! Hard to tell if they were closed and forgot to lock the door. Couldn't really tell who our waiter was because there were 2 people tending to us (1 for drinks, 1 for food) our food waitress was a bit hard around the edges, she either seemed like she couldn't be bothered or frankly didn't care. Not sure. She was just very short with us and wasn't all that friendly. Food was ok, but I don't think I'd recommend this place to others. 😕

Great craft brews, delicious food, great views and a cool atmosphere. This place is a must try if you visit Houghton.

Great food, decent prices, get atmosphere. I was full when I left and I rarely get full. Did I mention the food was really good?
