I’ve been here twice, and I’m definitely coming back!!! The food was on point! Everything came out so delicious!! The papaya salad extra spicy is my all time Favorite now in the twin cities!! If you want great Thai/lao food, this is the place! They have reasonable prices too! Also a bonus, the waitress is always so sweet! Thanks King Thai!
The calamari was very soft. The dipping sauce that came with it was not your ordinary dipping sauce. It smelled fishy and garlicky, not too spicy but actually worked really well with the squid. Service was great. The acoustics of the place wasn't the best. It was too noisy for my taste. I love the place, big tall windows on all 3 sides. I would definitely go back.
Amazing authentic food! I had date night here with my girlfriend. We had initially planned to go somewhere else but had forgotten to make reservations, luckily we had a back up and boy are we glad we found this gem. I had the the kings wings, red curry shrimp with white rice and a side of fried rice. Everything was on point, the red curry was rich with flavor and they gave a lot of shrimp that were also a plump and tasty. My girlfriend had the red curry snow crab legs which they mentioned was new and that was also fire. All in all this place is a hidden gem an we will be back!
I have been to this place several times but forgot to left a review all the time because I was so busy eating and satisfied after all. My regular order would be King’s wings with their special sauce, sai gok ahh my favorite, crying tiger and raw shrimp in Thai style. The owner was very generous and fun. Service is just like any other Asian restaurants, you can’t ask for too much. But all in all, I am here for the food. Definitely my favorite Thai/Lao restaurant by far.
Let's just stop what we're doing and read this. I've been to quite a few Thai restaurants in my life, but this one stands far out from the rest. The food is amazing but as I always say, it's never going to be the only thing that makes a restaurant spectacular. The service does. And that's what you get here. Not only is the food in this family-owned and operated restaurant the best in terms of food, but the owners are some of the most gracious people we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. And you can never have enough of that. Now we can discuss the food. First of all, the meat they use is all halal chicken and beef which has me double sold on this place. There aren't many Asian restaurants in Minneapolis/st. Paul that have halal cuisine. This restaurant has a leg up for just that reason alone for me. We ordered a number of things: chicken satay, pad see ew, pad Thai, pho, and chicken fried rice. The owners brought us some additional entrees: the tomyum soup, the thai basil chicken and an off-the-menu item they are thinking of adding to the menu: a chicken and vegetable curry. The food was some of the most flavorful food I've ever had. Everything is made fresh. The pad see ew was a favorite, the chicken satay was succulent, the fried rice was delicious, the basil chicken was so tasty, and I think the tomyum soup was one of the most flavorful soups I've had in a long time. I would recommend this place a 1000%. If you're in the area and looking for Thai food, this is the place to go. Vegetarian options: You can order food without meat. Everything is made fresh. Kid-friendliness: It's a casual dining place and is family friendly. Parking: Parking on two sides. Wheelchair accessibility: There are no steps and it's easy to get through. Dietary restrictions: They have halal meat.
The food was absolutely amazing. The owner was one of the nicest people. His wife was great too. Got the basil chicken, sticky rice, chicken wings and cream cheese wontons. All of it was more than worth it. I will be coming back here. I got mild for spice on my chicken, I will be getting medium or hotter next.Food: 5/5
The food here is delicious, everything we ordered, including the Vietnamese dish bún bò Huế was the bomb. We didn't expect to get good Vietnamese food at a Thai place, but my dad said the bún bò Huế was better than what he's had at Vietnamese restaurants. The owner came out to chat it up with our family and doted on my dad. Such a sweet, adorable family establishment. I will always come back here for Thai, fabulous service and equally fab food!
Atmosphere at this restaurant is nice. Overall, the food is great. Never had tomatoes in my pho before so I found it kind of weird but to my surprise, it was good! The broth itself was delicious before I even added my preferred condiments. The noodles were a bit soggy though. The shrimp curry was okay. It was a bit too sweet for my liking but that’s my fault because I didn’t know we could pick the level of spiciness. There were just a few shrimps and curry sauce on a bed of lettuce. It felt more like a wet salad than curry. Spring rolls were not disappointing. I also ordered some pad Thai to go and it’s one of the best Pad Thai’s I’ve ever had. Coffee was great too. However, customer service could use some work. After serving us our food, our waiter didn’t ask us if we needed anything else nor did she come to check up on us to see if we needed any refills.
The Boat noodles here is amazing, broth is beefy and flavorful. Their Kapoon here is also very good, right about of curry and coconut flavor. Owner is always great at greeting us and remembering us when we come by to eat.
Due to FB raves, came to try $16 Boat Noodles which came in deceivingly smaller looking bowl. However- loaded w/meat, decent amt of noodles, rich broth. Wasnt a fan of this dish before n after eating still not, tho shared w/wife who stated one of better versions around. Kaopiak $12- very underflavored and small noodle portions. Noodles also too chewy. Nam Khao $12- good flavors n crunch but smaller portion and excessive green onions. Summary- mostly disappointed. Too bad since reside in area but didnt see value in higher prices, flavors, n portion sizes. No condiments readily avail at table to customize. For a SE asian place, usually standard so can adjust flavors to liking. You get couple packets of sauces or side cup upon request. Outdated menu so prices are unknown unless asked in advance or at checkout. Really friendly n quick service so wont yet rule out return for other menu items.
