The Karsten Hotel

Super friendly staff that makes you feel very welcome. Nice bar, lobby, and rooms. Definitely recommend this hotel!

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was warm and welcoming. The lovely tuck in and kisses good night from the other side was a sweet touch too!!! See you next year!!!

This place is a gem. It needs a whole lot of love and attention but it still does it's thing. With a lot of history to boot. Dont expect too much and you'll be fine. The main thing is that the town is gorgeous and the location perfect. There are great restaurants, breakfast places​, lighthouse and a beach just around the block. Our fridge didn't cool at all, the amenities are old and the bed gave us problems. But I'd sure stay here again. 😁

Excellent place! Glorious bed! Whirlpool! Breakfast outside on the patio over looking Lake Michigan! Beautiful! Owner is super friendly! Totally cool!

The place has a really cool vibe and history but the amenities are terrible. Most of the time we were there, there was no staff around at all. We had to call someone on The phone to check us in. The kitchen and bar were both closed, apparently they're only open on weekends but who knows. The locals say they're never open. Our refrigerator didn't work and getting ice was impossible. We had to go to the gas station to get it. Personally I liked the place but it's not everyone's cup of tea.
