I was in town for a quick trip for the St Charles Jazz Weekend and this was such a great way to get to experiencethis charming city. The small businesses are able to participate hosting a variety of musical performers, which is really unique compared to other cities where a venue hosts these kind of events. By having the businesses hosts the musical talent it encourages the community and visitors to explore different areas of downtown St. Charles and really get to know the local business owners. Scott, the owner of The Jank Guitar Store, is an amazing ambassador for St. Charles. He's very involved in his community and the enrichment of this city and enjoys sharing the history of this historic town. Scott is one of those people you meet for the first time and feel like you're old friends. The Jank Guitar Store is not your typical retail store. It's a business setup to musically engage the community from children to adults who need a creative outlet and passion to learn the guitar. I highly recommend looking up this place and experiencing St Charles. Support small businesses!

Scott is such a great instructor! He is very kind and soft spoken. We love the convenient location and hours of availability offered! You definitely get what you pay for with The Jank!! We highly, highly recommend checking it out!

t has been nearly a year since I began guitar lessons with Scott at The Jank Guitar Store. My goal was to become good enough to join the Praise Band at our church, & Scott has been an eager partner in this pursuit. Scott teaches with enthusiasm in even the simplest instruction to a beginner like me. He has a passion for music that is contagious & it makes learning fun. During lessons, he provides a light-hearted, relaxed mood & plenty of encouragement. Our lessons & follow-up are well-planned & questions are welcome anytime, with a timely response. I particularly appreciate the review sheets he provides after every lesson as they make great reference material. Lessons at The Jank Guitar Store continue to give me the basic tools & techniques I need to build confidence in playing the guitar & I am happy to say I am now a member of the Band thanks to Scott's instruction & sincere interest in helping me reach my goal.

I have been bringing my 9 year daughter for lessons for almost a year now and she truly enjoys and looks forward to every lesson. Scott takes such care to get to know his students and personalize each lesson. His approach to teaching an absolute beginner was easy to grasp and fun. He has a contagious passion for music and is just wonderful to work with. I would highly recommend Scott and The Jank. The scheduling system took a bit of getting used to, but the team is very accommodating to work with your schedule.

I have really enjoyed my experience at The Jank Guitar Store! Scott offers lessons, and his times are flexible and work well for me. He personalizes each lesson, and he really makes you feel like you are his only student and not just "one of many." I admit the making an appointment before even seeing the store was a little unconventional, but if you're willing to do the work to make the appointment before the first exposure, you won't be disappointed.

My 13 year old son has been taking guitar lessons with Scott for just over 1-year. What a great instructor. Colin has become more confident in his abilities and really enjoys experimenting with his guitar and practicing new techniques. I think this is what playing and creating music is all about. I appreciate Scott's encouragement while my son finds the style that works for him. He's enjoying the adventure.

One of the first things I would share about The Jank, is that Scott is one of nicest , most even keeled people I have met. He has a genuine enthusiasm for teaching and gets as much enjoyment in seeing you make progress as you get out of it yourself He also has a unique way of teaching key concepts in music regardless of what you are learning. I've talked with him about classic rock , blues, alternative rock, pop, and more and he always finds a way to teach how the songs have roots in key music concepts. It's been a fun journey so far. Scott is also teaching our daughter who knows very little about music and even less about guitar but within a few lessons we can already see her genuine interest building. At times our daughter takes Scott on some long winding stories but Scott has never shown even the slightest hint of impatience. For me the experience has been nothing but great. I started playing later In life and have very little natural talent but Scott has already gotten me to the edge of a pretty complicated short solo. He didn't know the song but worked with me to dissect it and learn it. The song deviated from our regular lesson path but he has worked it in so I'm continuing to learn the basics of blues and pop and rock that I signed up for while learning a few of my favorites on the side. If you want to learn the guitar and live anywhere remotely close to St Charles , this is the place for you.

Scott is currently giving my son lessons. It is amazing how he can relate to a 12 yr. old. He makes it very easy to understand and learn the guitar, all the while making it fun. Scott's passion for music comes through in how he teaches. I highly recommend checking this place out.

We found a permanent home for guitar/ukulele lessons with Scott from The Jank Guitar Store. His passion for teaching and love for music is unlike anyone else I have seen in this area. Not only does he take teaching to another level but he takes the time to really connect with his clients; enhancing the overall experience. I have been taking lessons with Scott at The Jank for over a year now and love it. The progress I have made since day 1 has been incredible. I would say the greatest thing about taking lessons with Scott is his patience and enthusiasm when teaching me something new. I always look forward to the next skill in the lesson plan.
