Trying new places led us for lunch at this hidden gem. We all tried different meat pies, perfect for winter. The spicy minced meat Tourtierre was my personal favorite, complete with delicious cherry pie. Good variety on the menu for food, pie, and drinks in a cozy atmosphere. Be sure to explore your neighborhood and check it out!

Decided to try eating here on my lunch break, this restaurant is located in the bottom level of a local museum. Walking into the restaurant it was small quaint and cozy. I was met with a friendly greeting by the serving staff, she was just inputting an order in to the till so I could look around. They had some preserves and breads, and fresh looking pies for sale in their display case.
After the server had inputted the order she informed me that their patio was open. Their patio reminded me of my grandparents patio, well landscaped and simple patio furniture.
The server gave me a menu and it seemed like fairly simplistic meals, some entrees, and sandwiches, the kind Grandma would serve. This was where my experience turned from the positive expectations my experience so far was leading.
I had ample of time to decide on what I wanted from the menu as it was almost 15min, before the server returned to take my drink order, (which was water)I had place my drink, food and dessert order as I did not have a lot of time to wait. (Just in case it was another 15min, between receiving my drink and placing my food order.) The menu has 14-15 items on it, the one sandwich I chose they could not make as they did not have the sausage or eggs to make it. So I made another choice. The BLT with a salad. It took 25 minutes to see this food, unfortunately I had to get back to work. So I had to get it to go.
I quickly had to eat the sandwich/salad and the Saskatoon pie on my way back to work. The food was good especially the fresh baked bread.
The disappointment of the slow service, not having what I originally decided on and high prices $21.00 for a sandwich/salad and a slice of pie and a glass of water; will likely stop me from coming back, which is a shame, cause the food is good.

Food was great! Sandwiches made from homemade bread, then dessert homemade pies! Everything Fresh & you can buy a loaf of bread to take home for that fabulous aroma of baking! They offer daily lunchen specials too!

I used to frequent there with my sweetheart, as well as with family, and have had business meetings because we had a lot of pride in the food there. We love to introduce it to new people who also couldn't believe how awesome it was. The food was fantastic the staff was fantastic we used to always call it grandma's place. They got a new chef in there, who in my opinion shouldn't be cooking in the kitchen! I was in the restaurant business for many years, this man can't seem to even make a soup or a decent Caesar salad. We went A few times, with complaints, talk to the chef, and he blames everybody else. He always seem to have excuses. We no longer go to this restaurant, very sad we miss the lovely servers and the fantastic food that was like my grandma used to make . Unfortunately that is no longer the case.
