Home Depot by Chinook LRT, right across from Chinook Mall, is super convenient when you’re in project mode. They’ve got everything you need for renos, and the rental department makes big jobs way easier. I’ve used it a bunch as it’s quick, efficient, and always reliable.

We had an absolutely terrible experience choosing paint here.nnThe color on the paint cards looks completely different from the actual color on the wall. Of course, once the paint is mixed, you can’t return it.nnWe picked a different color and bought a sample. We tested it on the wall and loved it. Then we purchased a full-size bucket of the exact same color—but when we painted the wall, it turned out to be a completely different, awful shade!nnThankfully, we were able to return it, but we still never got the color we originally chose.nnThen we picked yet another color. The same thing happened—we tested the sample, liked it, and went back to buy the full-size paint. This time we were told that the full-size paint would not match the sample!nnHow does that make any sense? What’s the point of selling paint samples if the actual paint won’t match them?nnWe wasted a lot of money, time, and unnecessary stress because of this. I genuinely do not recommend buying paint here. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration.

Great experience at The Home Depot. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable, and I found everything I needed quickly. The store was clean and well organized. I’ll definitely be coming back for my future projects!

I came to home depot today to pick up a part for the Plummer working on the sink in my hair salon. I have no experience with plumbing and was a little confused, wanting to leave with the right part. Don stood and helped me find the correct part for over 20 minutes, spoke with the Plummer on FaceTime and made sure I was not leaving until I had exactly what I needed. 10/10 service, will ask for Don to help on any future projects, best customer service I’ve ever received. Give that man a raise or employee of the month or something!!!!

I had an extremely disappointing experience at Chinook Home Depot and feel compelled to warn others about what happened.nnI was returning vinyl flooring after a delivery disaster that was completely outside of my control. The flooring was delivered on the wrong day, earlier than scheduled, and I was never notified that it had arrived. To make matters worse, the pallet was left with the top exposed, sitting in the rain for an entire day. The delivery was made to a home I had not yet taken possession of, leaving two large pallets of flooring sitting in the front yard and blocking the walkway for four days.nnBecause I live in Strathmore, none of the subcontractors Home Depot uses for deliveries to that area were willing to assist or pick the pallet back up. I was left to deal with the problem entirely on my own.nnAfter exhausting my options, I rented a U-Haul and spent my Saturday manually loading and unloading approximately 1,300 sq. ft. of vinyl flooring myself. I then drove it to Chinook Home Depot for the return. Thankfully, I had already been approved online for the return, and the customer service associates at the returns desk were kind, professional, apologetic, and genuinely helpful throughout the process.nnBecause I actually liked the flooring product itself, I decided to reorder the same amount. I was given a small discount, the delivery fee was waived, and I was encouraged to sign up for a Home Depot credit card for an additional $100 discount, which I did.nnHowever, what happened next completely changed my opinion of this experience.nnAs we were leaving the store, we saw the pallets of flooring we had just returned being wheeled back toward the flooring department. We overheard the flooring manager telling employees to “go put it back in flooring.” Instructing them to return it to regular inventory instead of marking it RTS Return to Sender. This was shocking because earlier, after hearing the circumstances, she had agreed that the product was damaged. We had also been told by multiple employees that the flooring would be marked as RTS, and this was also why we were not given a larger discount, because the store was “losing all that money.”nnWhile some of the boxes had dried by that point, many had previously been visibly soaked. The product had sat exposed to repeated rain and outdoor conditions for four days. Vinyl flooring with underlay that has been exposed to moisture can potentially develop issues such as warping, deterioration, or mould problems later on. This was not a situation involving perfectly protected returned product.nnWe were so caught off guard that we did not confront anyone in the moment, but we did take photos of the pallets sitting in the flooring department ready to be restocked.nnNow I am left with a very real concern: what if the flooring I reordered and that is scheduled to arrive next week is the exact same flooring I just returned? The thought of installing product that sat exposed to rain and the elements for days in my first home is extremely upsetting.nnAs a first-time homebuyer, this experience has been incredibly stressful and disappointing. I can understand mistakes happening with deliveries—but knowingly returning potentially compromised product to inventory after acknowledging concerns feels unacceptable and, frankly, very shady.nnI would like follow-up from store management and reassurance that the flooring being delivered to my new home is not the same material that sat waterlogged outside for days.nnIf this happened to me, I can’t help but wonder how often it happens to others. As a consumer, I would be very cautious when purchasing large quantities of product from this location if there is a possibility that returned or compromised inventory is simply placed back on shelves without appropriate protocols in place.
