I’ve always loved the Gman. It has a great atmosphere, nice staff, good prices, and it’s conveniently located next to Metro. I recently rented out the backroom for what I thought was a great/fair price for 3hrs for a birthday party. We showed a movie, brought in catering, and had our own dedicated bar tender. The staff was so kind and accommodating! An amazing experience top to bottom and all of our guests had a great time too. It really solidified The Gman as an all time favorite bar for me. If you are considering holding an event here, do it!
Freaking love gman tavern! It's such a fun venue to see bands. Intimate setting with great drinks! I'd definitely come back to see another band!
Nice, small dive bar just out of reach from Wrigley. Cool little joint with a stage behind the curtains for some good late night jams.
I was there on a Tuesday afternoon before flying out of town, and this was the most chill bar I've ever been to. The other patron, bartender and I watched Jeopardy, drank, and listened to some records. It's just that kind of place- love it.

Beautiful bar. The bartenders we're fun to talk to. They have a bunch of my favorite beers and seltzers from New Belgium. Show was good.
Great Staff and Live Music!
This is a great little venue right on the corner down from The Metro. Bar upfront, and a small venue in the back, good for small punk shows. Drinks are well priced for the area, and staff is friendly and accommodating. I say this from both attending and playing shows there.
We were looking for a place to have a drink and relax before a concert at Wrigley. We went into Gman where they had a couple of turntables spinning tunes by the Grateful Dead we were there to see Dead & Company. The bartender was super friendly, the service was great, the beer selection was good. We will be back the next time we are in town to go to Wrigley.
Very legit neighbhood bar. Every Chicago bar should take cues from this place. Bringing in food from across street at Wrigleyville Hotdogs really made the night great. Wide beer selection, ciders, whiskey.
