Story

We are especially pleased to have been able to establish our restaurant in one of Brighton’s most historically interesting buildings.

The Lockwood Family built the house in 1872. The patriarch of the family, Reverend Joseph Lockwood, was Brighton’s first postmaster. In addition, along with his son Thomas, he is responsible for the selection in 1831 of the town’s name, which was chosen in honour of Brighton, England.

Brighton ist a small town and we wanted a nice calm dinner. We expected nothing special however we were curious due to the good ratings.nAll we can say, is that the quality, rafinesse and taste of the food did by far exceed our expectations. Also the sympathic service by our young waitress was extemely wellcoming and honestly warm.nThis place deserves nothing less than full 5 stars!!!nThanks to the whole Gables team for a perfect dinner!nnP.S.: try the salad with the gentle warm mushrooms.... mmmmh!

Lobster Pasta & Lamb to RemembernnDining at Gables – Yum was an absolute pleasure. The setting is refined yet relaxed, with both indoor and outdoor seating that offers a perfect backdrop for a special evening.nnWe ordered the lamb and the lobster pasta, and both dishes were exceptional.nnThe lamb was perfectly cooked—tender, flavorful, and beautifully presented. It had a rich depth without being heavy, showcasing the kitchen’s skill in balancing fine ingredients with classic technique.nnThe lobster pasta was equally impressive. Delicate, fresh, and generous with lobster, the pasta was well-crafted and satisfying without being overly rich.nnService was attentive and professional throughout, enhancing the overall experience.nnFinal thoughts:nIf you’re after top-tier food, elegant surroundings, and standout dishes like lamb and lobster pasta, Gables – Yum is a five-star choice. Highly recommended.
Nice atmosphere but pricey. For 80cad per guest, I would not expect ripped table clothes and paper napkins. The pasta was delicious but the chicken on it, a little hard. Gambers salad had 3 small shrimps only. The waitress amazing but she could have more help.
Had the Jaeger Schnitzel which was excellent. Quiet place. Overall quite enjoyable.
