The Friendly Grill Restaurant and Deli

Great spot for a fast and fresh meal. Service is one of the fastest I have ever seen. Ordered and my food was hot and ready. Can’t be any faster. I would recommend this spot. Thanks for the amazing service.

So, one day my friend and I are just cruising around, looking for a spot to get a quick, easy and inexpensive lunch - somewhere we haven't been before. I do a Google search for a burger joint, and up pops this spot. The reviews looked good, and it wasn't too far away, so off we go. When we arrive at the parking lot, the first thing I have to do is check that we have the right place - the restaurant, from the outside, looked almost decrepit - I thought we had the wrong address. But no, this was the spot. So, after deciding we weren't going to run around elsewhere, we parked and went it. Our first reaction? We must have passed through a time warp - the place looked straight out of the '60s. Melamine tables sort of sorry looking but very clean and serviceable, lots of hockey memorabilia, a long counter with a couple of biker types taking orders and serving food, and the compete menu up on the wall behind the counter. The main items? Hamburgers , chicken burgers, peameal bacon burgers, fries, more fries, smoked meat sandwiches, more fries, bacon and eggs, potatoes ...... you get the idea. The folks sitting and eating inside all seemed to be locals - friendly, chatty and all really enjoying their meals! So, I decided to order something healthy - I got extra lettuce and tomato on my peameal bacon-cheese-burger, AND a diet coke, with a SMALL order of well done fries. Let me tell you, my MOM couldn't have made it better. My friend had a corned beef sandwich on rye, which was so stuffed that he could barely pick it up with both hands. And it was easily just as good as the corned beef sandwiches in the deli restaurants on Bathurst Street in Toronto and about HALF the price. Will my friend and I come back? Definitely, if I can just remember where I found this gem! Kid-friendliness: Well, I wouldn't hesitate to take my kids here.

Looked like a nice place to have breakfast while waiting for oil change. Got here at 1230 no breakfast available. Breakfast is 7am to 11am. The staff was friendly but I was really craving breakfast and most of what they were serving was greasey sandwiches and burgers, so I ended up not eating. My boyfriend enjoyed his tuna sandwich, though the fries were a little soggy.

Great little greasy spoon diner with daily specials. Portions are generous and can’t honestly beat the prices for the meals you’re getting. Been here for the breakfast and the home fries are fantastic. Grabbed a banquet burger for lunch and definitely hit the spot.

Had went next door for motorcycle service, thought of grabbing quick lunch. It was late lunch time and they close at 4pm, so it was empty. The gentleman at cash, possibly the owner’s son was very nice and welcoming. The owner seemed to be the cook. Had the house special “Hamburger with pemeal bacon”. Food came out quick, looked great as the picture and very reasonable. It was only about $10 with tax and tips. Better than going to mcdonalds or any other fast food. If you’re in the neighbourhood and hungry I would highly recommend visiting this place.

Not friendly at all, menu said 4 eggs in omelette but didn't seem like more than 2, potatoes were not fresh and the place was dirty

Great food reasonably priced, you are greeted with a hello and a hearty “thank you” when you leave. Parking: Lots of parking

I'm not sure why this place got such high review. Maybe the breakfast and deli meats would be different haven't tried them and after today Im never going back. I ordered a chicken breast on a bun. That's the thickness of the chicken breast. Looks like they cut one chicken breast in half and sell that. I'm not even going to comment about their cleanliness. Just keep your eyes open.
