A friend was there the week prior from Toronto and gave a great review for the Vindaloo wings. Today I met my son at Uni and we went for lunch. These wings and sauce were fantastic. Also had a great full size serving of homemade squash soup and my son had a huge bowl of mussels. Nice clean pub atmosphere and friendly service. For sure I will be back to try the beer also.
I was so impressed with The Fat Duck! My husband and I went for dinner this evening. I got the steak and mushroom pie pictured and my husband had the Sunday roast. My steak and mushroom pie was literally incredible. The inside had been cooked perfectly especially the steak… it melted in my mouth. The ingredients were SO well balanced. Homemade puff pastry was fluffy, light and not soggy. The fries were also super tasty. They came out hot and crispy, seasoned perfectly with salt and pepper and I could not stop eating them, even when I was about to burst. The service and atmosphere were also 10/10. Safe to say, we will definitely be back and look forward to tasting more from the menu!
First time here. We have tried the restaurants in the vicinity. We went for the mussels but we were told "we usually run out on Sundays!" So our go to appetizer then was nachos but the only meat option were chipotle pulled pork or vegeterian. So we skipped the appetizers because I avoid spicy and ordered from the menu and the "features board". I ordered a "bacon wrapped meatloaf with mashed potatoes and peas" and my husband ordered "shitake mushrooms gnocchi with garlic seasoned breadcrumbs". My meatloaf came smothered in a very spicy bbq sauce and not a traditional tomato sauce with mashed potatoes that were drowning in au jus gravy as were some of my herbed peas. When I ordered I was not informed of this spicy BBQ Sauce nor was it noted on the featured board. Server said she just writes what the chefs tell them to. And that there was 2 au jus sauces on my plate; which was incorrect one au jus one BBQ sauce. I told her this and she seemed annoyed by it. But not her fault, the kitchen communication was not at 100%. My husbands gnocchi was good portion and seasoned well but the 2 huge garlic cloves that were not fully cooked were a bit surprising yet easy to spot and push away! So to get my meal right.... They brought me a burger non spicy with condiments on the side as requested. That was good substitution but I had to wait for it while my husband finished his meal. Our server Jannelle did everything right just the kitchen staff let her down We plan on coming back to see if this was a one off situation. We explained to her that this was not her fault but the back of the house's for lack of communication. As well we gave her a personal tip This was not the experience we expected after reading all these reviews. When we do come back, we will call ahead and ask for our server by name: Jannelle.And hopefully we can give you a different review from our experience. Thank you. Absolutely amazing food. We got the hummus plate to start which was really delicious and then our waitress Amanda recommended the curry and the short ribs, which were a special tonight. Thanks Amanda for your suggestion and wonderful service tonight and thanks to the fantastic cooks. We are very full and very happy. Great night out.
Neighborhood Gastro Pub in Guelph CA. Irish pub atmosphere. Menu is not super long, but what is there is different from what is usual pub faire. There are some Indian curry dishes. Some Mexican Nachos dishes. And Irish dishes. I had the bangers and mash. Excellent, creamy mash potatoes, two large sausage links, and roast carrots. I have had this dish in other restaurants but this was the best. Full bar drink menu all the usual liquors. On tap beers, not huge selection but some I had not heard of. Overall nice experience.
The food was amazing, thank you Kitchen. Janelle was the worst server I’ve ever had in my entire life, thank you Holly for saving the night. Holly deserved every single tip we gave her. Our group appreciated you, please note the star rating has nothing to do with the food but only the original server herself. Half our group is servers and never in our lives have we been treated the way she treated us. Find a new job.
Good food, quick service, great atmosphere. Absolute perfection. Nothing to critique; a must visit if you're in Guelph. I had the Lobster and Shrimp Risotto a special. It tasted great, and the portions were good. My sister had the Lasagna Bolognese a special. Looked great, and she enjoyed it. It also came with a Caesar salad, and she enjoyed it despite typically disliking Caesar salad dressing. The other dishes were also really good; fish & chips and another dish that I'm currently forgetting. Everyone left the restaurant feeling full and being fully content with the meal they ate. As I said, 100% recommended.
Went for the FIFA game and the owner set us up personally for our best comfort. We had an amazing time here. The food is fantastic, the beer is always cold and the staff is welcoming. If I lived closer to here, I'd be at the Fat Duck all the time. Thank you.
Really delicious meal! We got a phenomenal appetizer feature burrata!, three wonderful entrees steak and mushroom pie, and two features: shepherd's pie and short rib tagliatelle, and side ceasar and chef's salads. Everything was really, really tasty! Make you sure you check out the features menu, as we certainly found some gems! Can't wait to go back!!
We had a dine in meal here and the food and staff were excellent! The restaurant took all of the proper Covid precautions with Masks being mandatory while not seated and I also noticed some plexiglass between the tables. That said the service was great and our waitress was informative with the specials and other menu items. We didn't order any mains but the appetizers were delicious. Especially the Crisps which are a must have if you come here.
