Golfed this course and it was perfect for my husband and I. He is a much better golfer but I found the forward tees favourable and it wasn’t too hard always a challenge to find a course for different levels of golfer. Great staff. Restaurant food was great and we enjoyed a great meal after.
The course was fine I would like to play it more later in the season with the long fescue because a more challenging shot may appear. Some of the staff were incredibly nice, well other staff members seemed standoffish. What I put this in the same class as tobiano or talking Rock. No.
Our group had a fantastic experience here at The Dunes. Customer service here is top shelf through and through. We had a major communication issue on our end and this was immediately remedied by Amber in the Pro Shop and Glenda the pro shop manager. They could have easily sent us on our way, but they graciously accommodated us and helped make our golf trip a memorable one. You can count on excellent customer service and a sincere willingness to make your day go smoothly, thank you Amber and Glenda! We were also surprised at how good the conditions were considering we were golfing in the peak of summer July >35 degrees, the greens were excellent and course design was fun to play. We're happy we chose to include this course on our golf trip. We'll definitely be back!
It is a nice course for intermediate level players. It is a course you rarely have to worry about losing balls on due to the minimal number of OB areas. It is a course you will need to hit a long ball on as most holes for intermediate players are a bit on the longer side. For excellent ball hitters no holes should pose a problem. Biggest downside is that it is a long ways out in Westsyde & there are many other easily accessible comparable or more highly rated courses closer in driving time wise with no hotel accommodation out there for out of town players.
Greens ard in great shape. A bit of a challenge on the narrow fairways with the rough being so thick.
My wife and I love this place since we were married here. Great food in the restaurant and friendly staff. Excellent venue for weddings and group events. Pretty cool golf course as well!
Great course, great restaurant with gluten free options. Really good prices for lunch. But the course charges $11 to book a tee time online. They don’t tell you this. Really stupid. They say check online for our best rates, but then they rip you off $11 for booking online. Call for a tee time for free. The carts are nice, they are not those smart carts that think for themselves. Not many trees, can get hot. Great for evening golf too. You won’t hit any houses, no worries there. Good course for practice with the driver. Fairly open and forgiving if you slice it. Greens are super fast.
Best Sunday brunch buffet. 21 and change and includes any drink aside from booze. The selection is perfect.
The Dunes was an amazing day. Tha course was in great shape and the greens were fast but not too fast. We were a bit early for our tee time but they let us out early. Would definitely go back next time we are in town!!
I was charged $11.19 for a service fee simply for booking a tee time on their website, I assumed it was a deposit and it would be removed from my total when I arrived. I was informed that it was in fact a service fee and to avoid it I should call the club house to book tee times in the future. I will stick to courses that don't punish you for using technology going forward. Course was in good shape for early season.
