Stayed here while attending the Banff Film Festival. 22 minute easy walk to the Banff Centre or take Roam bus nearby. Very clean, great shower and Rocky Mountain Soap products! Mini fridge, microwave and coffee/tea. Free parking too . Very cool decor. Highly recommend!
Clean and nicely decorated rooms, a bit of walk from downtown which makes it feels quieter and more secluded. Saw an elk one night right outside the property. One block from bus station makes it easier to get around, on premise parking seems like it could be tight if busy.nCheck-in can be done on the phone but if you want to pick up a free bus pass or talk to anyone, the front desk is a couple of block away/
A bit disappointed given the high prices. For over 350$ per night I would expect a lot more.nn- for a motel room with a microwave, not providing any cutlery or any bowl at all feels very strange to me. We couldn’t eat our breakfast in the room because all we had was 2 mugs and 2 glasses.n- the price quality ratio is very bad. We were probably unlucky with the rates given the high occupancy in Banff, but I think 180-200$ would’ve been a much fair pricen- the check in is at a different hotel, about 7 minutes by foot. This is slightly inconvenient when traveling with a lot of luggagenn+ the room is spacious and clean. The beds are comfortablen+ parking spots are available right at the motel
Great experience staying at the Dorothy Motel. It's very clean, has free parking and location is accessible to most places in Downtown Banff. The interiors don't look too old/outdated as well. It was reasonably priced compared to other stays in nearby and value for money. Would definitely recommend and will be coming back here if we visit Banff again.
Hotels in banff can be rather expensive. We were glad to be able to secure a booking with the Dorothy Motel.nnFirstly, check in is done at their sister hotel which is the Banff Caribou Lodge. They will hand you the keys and bus passes. And you actually do get to use any of the lodge’s facilities we didn’t as we preferred to be outdoors and there were not much time.nnThere’s parking available at the motel which makes it convenient. There are only 2 floors and we chose the one on the ground as we did not want to carry our bags up the stairs. The beds were comfortable. There was a fridge, microwave and TV in the unit. There was also housekeeping. Ice machine was also available.nnI guess the only slight issue would be location. This is located a sight distance away from the banff town though it is still walkable 15-20 minutes walk. They provide roam bus tickets and the stops are only a couple of minutes walk. The location didn’t bother us that much.
