The Donut Mill

A great pit stop to make if you’re travelling between Edmonton and Calgary and are craving something sweet or savoury! They have a wide range of donut flavours and some hot foods like soup, sandwiches and subs. We got a dozen donuts for $22 and a cream of potato soup. The soup was very good and had a healthy amount of potatoes and bacon. We tried the honey dip donut which was lightly glazed and not too sweet. The donut was fluffy and a little chewy. Would recommend you try this place at least once!

Love the donuts @the Donut Mill. There is a good variety to choose from. Super soft and delicious donuts. The best part is there are many more options other than the yummy chocolate ones. Orange, Vanilla lemon, Maple, Apple etc. Enjoyed every variety of it. Totally worth the drive here.

Great friendly service as we stopped in just before closing. Huge variety of donut flavors. Bonita are baked fresh daily. Freshness has a 2 day window, hence best eaten quickly

A nice pitstop to break up your drive. The interior was spacious and clean and the staff are friendly. $20 for a dozen donuts. The flavours were nice but the donuts lean a little towards the dry side the cake ones, at least, so they weren’t our favourites.

Stopped here for a quick food stop and gas, quite disappointed to see that theres chicken noodle soup on their soup of the day sign but when I ordered they said it wasn’t available. Their donuts have a cakey texture but we only ordered two. Maybe other flavours would have a different texture? The staff were nice and friendly! The place is cozy and giving diner vibes. Would recommend to try if you’re stopping by Red Deer.

Took me long enough to try these delicious donuts I keep on hearing about from my friends. It’s really that good!! Chewy soft bites with just the right amount of filling, and almost 20+ flavours to choose from, which is a perfect reason to get 2 Dozens of donuts! I also tried their mini donut bites and it’s way better than timbits, and cheaper too! 20pcs for just $5. The staff were cheerful and always happy to serve. They also have eclairs, soups, sandwiches, coffee and more. I tried to arrive around 8-9am and there weren’t lines at all. They kept the indoor restaurant neat and clean at all times. I wish they open a second location in Calgary. Wishful thinking! : Definitely coming back!

They are good donuts but I prefer less sweet than this. I use to go Take 5 in Edmonton and you can compare this donut with Take 5 of level of sweetness then you will understand what I taking about. The bread of donut is moisture and soft, feel like high quality of cake, not bad at all but still I think Take 5 is a bit better for donut feels. Happy we try them out though but I don’t think I will come back but don’t get me wrong, The donut mill is good donut, I just prefer my own taste for Take 5 Edmonton. 4 stars because they are good donuts and clean nice cozy place.

Talk around the office that The Donut Mill had great donuts in Red Deer, we had to check it while passing through. Assured, these donuts were quite good. The dough was a tad firm but fillings!? Yummy! Overall a great product. No issues with the service despite their drive-thru being renovated. One minor strike, they don't have diabetic options. Nothing keto or sugar free. AND yes I'm aware it's a donut shop! Just sad that my wife wasn't able to enjoy them with the rest of our family.

Food - 5/5 Service - 4/5 Ambiance - 4/5 Price - Mid Ranged Ordered the classic donut, and a boston cream. By far this is one of the best donut, I have ever tried. This is a must stop when visiting red deer, or even if you are just passing by. They also have a drive thru, and not to mention but tons of options to eat. Overall, a must visit.

We stopped by while our trip from Edmonton to Calgary. We tried their donuts, and so far, we really liked what we tried because the sweetness leves was perfect usuallt i found that cream filled donuts come out too sweet, when ever i get from tims or others but its first time that i really liked every piece we tried.
