I had always wanted to eat here! I ordered the Breakfast Sandwich, and it was so good. The honey fig spread was a good touch. I ordered a side of Mac + Cheese that was very good. There is outdoor seating limited to an hour and a half. Reserve your spot before going! Update: I took my best friend here for dinner, and we had the fried tofu burger and the fries with aioli. It was super good! I ordered sour which was super good! I forget the name, but they rotate anyhow so just choose one that sounds good!
Stopped in around 9:20pm on Saturday night for drinks. The drinks were unique, the staff were very friendly. The ambiance was great, music was quiet enough that we could still hear each other. We were relieved to have found this place. The staff were very kind even when we were there right up until close sorry! Had to call an Uber!. Will definitely be back!!
They have a nice selection of ciders and a tasty vegan soft pretzel.
They have a wide variety of beer which is good, and the atmosphere is also great. However their food....isn't so great. I would avoid the Bahn Mi and try more traditional american dishes like the burgers.
Manhattan prices for normal tasting food and drinks. This bar used to be great and now you have to pay $18 for a sandwich, $11 for a pretzel yes, for an actual pretzel and $13 for their cheapest house-style wine. There are so many other spots in town that are good or better, best to skip this one for now unless something changes.
Drink selection is decent but food and service are ALWAYS average. Prices for unremarkable food keep going up, $20+ for a veggie burger and fries is brazenly ridiculous. If you can’t get a bar seat you’re stuck sharing a table with strangers. Tellus in the first floor of Thorne’s or Daily Operation in Easthampton will offer the same quality drinks with infinitely better food, service, atmosphere, and price points. You won’t go bankrupt eating there and you’ll be more satisfied in the end. Dirty Truth is simply not worth it anymore.
Let’s start with the good, beer and wine selection, the cheese platter, specifically the pickled asparagus, wife loved the cheese. But the real dirty secret, not worth the price of the food, get a beer or wine and run. Food issues listed below, also had an issue with cheese platter that was settled and discussed below. Nice selection of craft beers. That being said I ordered the calamari, which came out cold and soggy, it wasn’t take out it was dine in and about 1/4 of the way in I find a hair, gross, waitress asks if I want another or off the bill, off the bill do not order the calamari, it wasn’t worth the money, not even close. I waited and thought about going to another place or order, I got the chicken sandwich, chicken was lacking in actual size, and underwhelming considering the things they add, bun was old and dry, also chicken wasn’t hot, the fries however were hot and decent. They only warm thing I got all night. Wife ordered a cake and coffee, well cake came and was meh, not worth the price, coffee well that came when she was done eating the cake, ordered at the same time. Timing was terrible, food was cold by the time we got it, and to be honest wasn’t that busy. Oh cheese platter “was that walnuts or pecans? The answer we got was it’s a mix of both”, wish it said that in menu wife is allergic, so she ate the things not touching it. Honestly not worth a visit, outside of a beer and continue on down to the other establishments in the area. Front of house staff didn’t seem happy, can’t blame them, the food was not that good, definitely not worth the price, left feeling like I needed tums.
I am a resident of downtown Northampton and I had been meaning to give this place a shot for months and I'm glad I finally did. I love bars with lowlight ambience and the draft options are spectacular. The French Fries here are exceptional and they give you a lot. The service was very friendly and I will be returning again for sure.
Great selection of beer with knowledgeable bartenders. They were able to make some great recommendations, and the varied selection means that there's options for everyone. Got food the second time I went, and the burgers are fantastic - unique options for toppers such as smoked blue cheese kicked them up a notch.
Had an outstanding time tonight at the ‘Celebration of Cider’ event that they held tonight. The selection of ciders was top notch. The pork loin sandwich was very good. The apple pie donuts dessert and hard cider cheese dip were surprise wonders of marvelous flavor concoctions. I could have made an entire meal with those alone! Can’t wait for the next event like this.
