Thought the food was great the service was ... confusing? The waiter, who we saw once, didn't write anything down and forgot much of our order. The rest of the night was met with a rotating cast of waiters, the women in black, the men each in wacky patterned shirts. The vibe was rather odd and at the end of the night when the birthday cake was brought out, there was not a single candle. The end.
Good food! Very solid fare and good service. Pictured is the truffle mushroom pizza. We also got the mac and cheese, and I got the caesar salad and a sazerac. The caesar was tasty; I felt like the romaine could have been roasted for just a little longer. The mac was really tasty but, I think, ultimately forgettable. It might have been better had we opted for the add-ons. I didn't enjoy the sazerac very much, but it was my first one, so I couldn't say if it was personal dislike or an issue with the mixing/ingredients. Finally, the pizza was phenomenal--one of the top 15 pizzas I've ever had. The only problem I have with the pizza is that the dough formula bakes up in such a way that it becomes very cracker-like and unappetizing at the edges. I've had wood fired pizza that was good to the very last bite of crust, so it definitely is doable.
Consistently amazing! I had the fried shrimp scampi tonight and again, I ate the entire dish it was so good I couldn't stop! Bread was hot and crispy but oh so soft.. just amazing! Great service & environment!!Food: 5/5
The food here is fantastic; but there is a lot more to a restaurant than the meal. The staff here is simply amazing. In any establishment; service is always about vibe. What a team of excellent people living their best lives. You can feel the positive energy immediately when you walk in. The folks in here are happy to chat and reciprocate kindness; and give excellent service. No doubt; the layout of this restaurant must be a challenge to manage between the patio and two layers of indoor; they pull it off incredibly well. Always quick to fill a glass and throw a smile; our experiences here have been filled with joy. Might sound like I'm overplaying it; but see for yourself. Shout out to Carlos and all of the folks there for giving us some of the best dining experiences we have ever had in Noho
Our party had a vegan, so availability of vegan option was a big part of our decision. The food was excellent! Service was attentive without being overbearing. Apparently, the kitchen was running behind, but we didn't notice and enjoyed sitting outside, enjoying good company and the great music the restaurant played. We all agreed that we'll come back again to try some of the other appealing options on the menu!
This is our go-to spot for excellent thin-crust pizza. High Brow is basically a trattoria serving simple Italian-inspired fresh food. They use quality ingredients. The vibe is comfortable, simple, attractive, not pretentious. Sometimes the toppings on the pizzas are scant; other times more generous. I do wish they would change up the menu a bit more often. As someone who eats gluten-free because of a documented immune reaction, it would be more equitable and inclusive if people with sensitivities weren't forced to pay more for their pizza crust. I understand that gluten free crusts cost more but it's kind of like forcing a handicapped person to pay more for their airfare or bus ticket. That said, we are grateful that they offer gluten free and their crust is the best anywhere! We were disappointed with the speed of service when we dined outside in May. They let us know up front that they were busier than usual but I feel like graduation weekends are times that restaurants should be able to plan for. If your guests are waiting over an hour for food and your staff can't keep up, maybe just don't take as many customers at one time.
My experience here was nice as the waitress was kind and attentive and the food was good. I ordered the chicken parmigiana and it was delicious.Recommended dishesChicken Parmigiana
Dined at HighBrow for a second time tonight. Both experiences have been enjoyable! Their pizza is quite good, and their non-Italian fare is excellent as well. I ordered their Szechuan tofu and would definitely get it again. Depending on your table, you can see the the pizza-making. The restaurant is dimly-lit, which makes for a cozy experience but challenges with menu-reading.
We weren't a fan of their non alcoholic drinks but the food was really good, especially the pizza.
Sat in the cellar which didn't really have any atmosphere. Slow service although our waitress was really sweet and kind but she was the only one serving this area. Pizza crust is amazing and sauce for dipping very good. Good margaritas but not great. Overall experience was good.Food: 3/5
