Hamilton has such a great food scene and I’m glad I discovered the Dirty South. What I ordered: 1 x Dirty Southern Sammie What I liked: Service great customer service and I appreciated the recommendations from staff, it was my first time dining. I have to commend the staff, they delivered a great customer experience for a takeout joint. COVID protocols were strictly enforced for dine in, which has become normal now. Flavours the delivered what was described on the menu. Perfect combination and layering of ingredients. There isn’t much I could criticize about my experience except: Messy they gave me about 6 napkins which I appreciated because they were critical to the eating experience. The sandwich presentation is insta worthy but if I took photos of the consumption, you may have chose another option. Complimentary bid for this sandwich may have been a required. They also provided a fork which I needed to eat the sandwich because it was everywhere. There are so many enticing options on the menu that I would definitely return and so should you !!!
Had the pulled pork ‘Build Your Own’. Wasn’t bad. Portion was fair, staff was okay, price was 15$ on the pricier side for a lunch. Definitely filled me up. Didn’t have any sides or anything. Would have expected a bit more flavour and more toppings asked for jalapeños had 2 jalapeño rings. Might return.
Question: How do you make poutine even more indulgent and amazing? Answer: go to The Dirty South and have it with some positively hedonistic fried chicken. 100% recommend.
Husband and I tried this for a date night recently, and we really enjoyed everything! The pulled pork tacos and dirty southern love sandwich were amazing, and the portions were quite good. The cornbread was also really good, and the hot honey and bacon jam that came with it were both delicious. The sweet potato tots were a bit disappointing, tasted fine, but the portion was crazy small for the price. We're hoping to be able to go here in person once things open up!!
The most amazing fried chicken sandwiches are sold here! We got the Dirty Southern love waffle sandwich and the Nashville Hot chicken and both were absolutely delicious! The meat was so tender ad flavourful and extremely crispy. It was amazing for takeout. We also ordered the Jackfruit mac n cheese and the corn bread muffins. The mac n cheese has a tangy flavour from the jackfruit, which took me a few bites to get accustomed to, but it was still very flavourful and yummy. We can't wait to come back here and try the rest of the menu!
We keep coming back for the brisket. Just a pound of meat in a container with a few buns. We love it so much we haven’t even tried anything else yet. Best price and hours for some good BBQ. We will keep coming back as long as they are around.
Food was good on proportions for $$. The staff were very patient. Parking is downtown, so be prepared to pay or walk. Music was "South", but could have been more tailgate and less "wife took the dog". Overall a good first visit. 4/5 will visit again.
I originally tried The Dirty South food truck and I absolutely loved it! When I saw they had a brick and mortar I knew I had to go - and it did not disappoint. Their Dirty Southern Love sandwich come on fresh soft waffles with a generous portion of fried chicken, make sure you ask for extra napkins so you can enjoy without worrying! I also had the Mac and cheese side, this was ooey gooey creamy dish. The serving for a side was larger than I anticipated! Worth every penny on my books.
Amazing takeout/delivery. So worth every mouthful. We got two "build your own" one pulled pork tacos, the other Mac n cheese with fried chicken and some sweet potato tots. So so so good.
I was very impressed with their shrimp tacos....one of the best. Good job.
