About

A 14-room lodge nestled in New York's western Catskills, 2 hours from NYC. Follow along for more updates!

Story

Nestled in New York’s western Catskills just outside the town of Livingston Manor, the 14-room lodge is a magical destination for the outdoor experience seeker with a culinary program unlike anything available in the area.

Located within the Catskill Park itself and perched just above the Willowemoc River, The DeBruce is a gateway to the outdoors with access to over 600 acres of private land, including two mountains and an eventual 30-mile trail system. The Willowemoc is a hidden treasure in itself, well known to anglers as one of the country’s most sleepy and famous fly-fishing rivers with limited public access.

The DeBruce is located 2 hours northwest of New York City, just outside of the quaint town of Livingston Manor (8 minute drive). The hotel & grounds are within 6-30 minutes of State Parks for swimming, canoeing, and hiking.

Our Dining Room is open Thursdays through Mondays offering a multiple course menu. Our Saturday menu features a 9 course menu. Please inquire for our current offerings and pricing. Reservations required.

My husband and I just spent the weekend at The DeBruce for our anniversary. While the people were nice, the service was problematic. Our room was very small and the bathroom didn't have a door. It was on the first floor and there was quite a bit of noise. On our first morning the shower overflowed and raw sewage poured out into the bathroom. If we hadn't laid out all of the towels it would have gone into the bedroom area. While they sent for help my husband and I couldn't use the bathroom or shower for the morning. The manager was apologetic and said she would make sure our stay was discounted because clearly this wasn't OK. But when we paid at the end of the weekend, the manager only comped us ~$40 of a meal we had ordered the night before (off of a $1K+ bill)! And for that meal, we waited 1 hour and 20 mins for the food to arrive. While the waitress was apologetic, it didn't help to see other people who had come in after us eat and finish before our food even arrived! So while the setting is nice and the people seem nice I would not recommend staying here unless they overhaul their service.

We stopped by for Sunday afternoon brunch. Get the burger and have drink. It's amazing and you won't regret it. Fun spot for sure and can't wait to go back.

The DeBruce is the ideal place to find relaxation along with exquisite and unique food. Most everything is created in house or obtained from local sources. The meals are delicious and the detail the chef uses in the presentation is picture perfect. The property offers you many locations for quiet contemplation. Every location boasts a beautiful view. You can easily fish or hike within the confines of the property. Inside there are a number of beautifully decorated spots to tuck yourself away with a good book or gather together for conversation. The staff is welcoming and helpful. They take a personal interest in their guests and are always available to answer questions, provide you with drinks and coffee or offer information on the local activities. The rooms, as well as the the entire property is beautifully decorated and clean. I thoroughly enjoyed the detail and presentation from the welcome tray awaiting you on your bed to the beautiful fresh flowers placed all around the hotel. Our stay at The DeBruce was an enjoyable and comfortable one and would highly recommend visiting The DeBruce on your next get-away.

I went to The DeBruce for dinner and I was amazed by my meal. The chefs take you on a journey with the decadent presentations and unique flavor combinations. The restaurant also has a gorgeous view to enjoy as you chat with friends between courses.
