Story

The Cup Cafe is a funky not for profit cafe located in the basement of the Unitarian Society of Houlton, offering fabulous specialty coffee and tea drinks, homemade treats to eat, free wifi, and a cozy space to gather with friends.
Our barista Frank sullivan is in his element at The Cup Cafe creating custom drinks for you and your friends.

The Cup Cafe is about community and sustainability. We offer outstanding food and drink focusing on local flavors, seasonal availability, and organic growing practices. Along with free wifi, the cafe has comfortable seating and a flat screen tv to encourage group viewing of movies, sporting events, news specials, etc. The space is available to rent for private parties, community classes, or business meetings. And local artists’ work adorns the walls.

Right now, The Cup Cafe is open only during special events--Coffeehouse Night on the Teenth Saturday of the month, Pizza Party Nights, Film Night. We are all volunteer-run and working toward a schedule of regular hours. "Like us", stay posted for upcoming events, and join the scene!

Strawberry-Kiwi: sweet strawberries belnded with kiwi to create a fruit tisane that is full bodied and refreshing. Naturally caffeine-free.

Citrus Burst: A rooibos based tea with a burst of citrus zest and fortified with Vitamin C, real orange and lemon pieces. Naturally caffeine-free.

Fruit Tea: A vibrant and vitalizing blend of lemongrass, blackberry leaves, rosehips, hibiscus, and a dash of peppermint leaves. Naturally caffeine-free.



Our loose leaf tea is supplied by Tea Guys, an artisan tea blender in Hatfield, Mass. who imports tea and sources premium ingredients from all over the world to create blends of unmatched quality and complexity. Tea Guys strive to deliver the most exotic and sensory tea experience possible, creating culinary tea blends of rare spices, fruits, and fine tea imparting a layered and lingering sensation not found with any tea out of a box.
