I went on a quiet sunny weekend in April, the area was clean, free of debris, the walkways and boardwalks well maintained. There were lots of stairs but also lots of opportunities to rest along the way. I suggest bringing a water bottle, I was grateful I remembered mine. I absolutely enjoyed the views, the history and friendly smiles.
This is one place you should definitely not miss when you're visiting Quebec City. We love history and La Citadelle de Quebec is a full of historical events between France, England, Canada and US. You cannot walk around the citadel without a guide since the fort is still an active military base. Thank you to our tour guide Marcus for the excellent walking tour of the citadel. He was informative and funny. The Royal 22eme Regiment Museum is also worth a visit with their amazing display of collection of the regiment's and the Canadian history, especially through the two world wars and the Korean war. We really enjoyed it very much.
Among all the things we did in Quebec, this wasn't talked about as much and we loved it the most! Make sure you go right before noon to have a special cannon experience ; they have guided tours every few hours in French and English. Great viewpoint and a place to learn and know Quebec's history.
Neatly maintained and ample parking available. The guided tour was very informative and would recommend it to anyone who is interested in a bit of history. The tour takes about an hour. There is a two hour parking limit so people can take a walk around the areas of the Citadel post guided tour.
Thats a must visit place. The guided tour was great! And was good to know more about the history of canada
