Must visit place while in the Quebec area. Historic 19th-century fortress still in active military use. Home of the Royal 22 Regiment. Guided tours are highly recommended and praised for being informative and engaging tour guides are very informative. Changing of the Guard ceremony is a must see. Panoramic views of Québec City and the St. Lawrence River from the topnnPros: Great guided tours, Scenic locationnCons: Limited self-guided access and tickets may run out very quickly, vehicle parking can be tricky due to the narrow roads and limited spacennHighly recommend visitors to book tours ahead and wear comfortable shoes. note that the tour is offered in French and English
A very well worth experience to visit the Citadel of Quebec .nnBook tickets in advance for the tour . We did the English speaking tour and it was very well paced and informative . Our guide explained every stop on the tour with details and answered all our questions. The tour lasts approximately one hour and makes stops along the various buildings and places of the Citadel.nnBreathtaking views of Quebec City despite being a cloudy fall day .nnMake sure you end your tour at the well maintained and highly educational museum indoors . It covers a historical span of the 22 regiment throughout the years up until recent times.
Must seen. Amazing historical site. Its an active military zone so you will need to go with a tour guide. Tours are available both in french and English for one hour. We took the English tour. The tour guy, Oliver, was funny and friendly. He guided us through several buildings, provided info and let us took loads of photos and videos. Highly recommended
