Absolutely revolting clinic. Want a test result? 10 bucks? Doctor didn't give refills on your medication and you're gonna run out today? Too bad, his first opening is in 12 days. Tell your mental health issue to "hold please". Phone/counter staff at this clinic are absolutely horrible and when they're replaced by an entirely automated system service will probably become somehow more humane. If you can go anywhere else, do it.
Dr. Luan Chuen is not do be trusted with any of your medical needs. Helpful until you actually need help, then pawns you off to the next provider. She encouraged me to come in for an open discussion about anti-depressants. When I did, she did not seem to want to listen, instead opted for a full-blown crisis management, she "Form 1" me to Sunnybrook Hospital involuntary in-patient and told my dad that if he didn't bring me to Sunnybrook, the police would be involved. Not sure what prompted that response from her when she invited me for an open discussion about medication for depression. Has never followed up after. Severe trauma from this experience, would not recommend.
Dr. Luan Chuen is amazing, I’m so grateful to have her as my physician! She has literally changed my life with helping me get a proper diagnosis and finding the right treatment for me. The front desk staff are great as well, very helpful and friendly. Could not be happier with this clinic
The reception desk needs intensive customer service training! Here’s a couple of examples that just left me speechless: I called to book a gynaecological exam and they would only book me on a day when I was with my 5 year old kid and kept insisting I just bring him into the exam room. I told them I won’t bring a child in with me for that and the receptionist literally said “fine, do it yourself then” and did not give me an appointment. Lol?! Another time I made an appointment, I find them calling me the day before my appointment to come in. They put the wrong date down so the receptionist decides to just repeatedly yell at me “your appointment is now” to fix things. They finally figure that they made a mistake and wouldn’t even admit it let alone apologize. Why bother, when you can just keep yelling at people trying to get healthcare? Also you will get called by reception with any test results but they’re just repeating the message without understanding what they’re saying. If you have any question whatsoever they just get defensive and rude. What a great way to communicate about health!
I have been a patient here for a few years now and have seen both Dr. Malik and Dr.Chuen. There is great coverage in practitioners and good care of their patients. I don't live in the area and am willing to get to this office from the financial district because I trust the Dr.s here. They don't over medicate - they are cautious and mindful practitioners and professionals - a rarity really in a world of prescription-happy clinics. I feel confident in their code of care/conduct as they take the time to ensure they are properly diagnosing and treating whatever ailment I have, or guiding me in preventative care.
Dr. Luan Chuen is one of the best doctors I have ever had in my life, bar none. She is so kind, patient, understanding and compassionate. She truly cares about her patients. She used to be located at Yonge & St. Clair but she moved to Bloor & Christie and I wanted to keep her as my family physician even though the commute is substantially longer. Doctors like Dr. Chuen are amazing, truly.
I've been a patient here for four years and this morning I tried to bring my sister there as she's very ill and the walk in clinic down the street that we tried to go to decided not to open until 2pm. Front desk staff refused to let her be seen as she's not a patient, even though they didn't have any patients in the office at the time and available appointments today. No offer to sign her up and see her, just turned a very ill person away without thought. I'll be looking for a new family doctor office with more compassion in future.
This has nothing to do with the staff but yesterday, this woman was getting off the elevator with her mother and then starts yelling at my grandma saying "BACK OFF BACK OFF by law you cannot be near us" we were not even close to her and she threatened me a minor by pulling out her phone and tried to record us. I am very disappointed. Even one of the workers got scared and ran out. Keep in mind my grandma doesn't speak English and I told the lady this. I am still very upset. The lady turned so red.
So frustrating. The staff at the front desk are so disorganized. Called to book and appointment as the online booking system was down. Was put on hold for almost an hour. Called back the next day another 20mins, no apology for the previous. Told to call back first thing Friday, only to be put on hold for another 15 mins to find out my doctor wasn’t event there and they had no replacement. Honestly don’t waist your time here if you can help it. Haven’t seen my doctor in months and lately it seems impossible to get anything done.
I like this clinic... You couldn't really ask for a better family doctor than Dr. Malik... then one time I couldn't get into see her as she was away and the other female Dr. I forget her name saw me instead, and she was just as great as Malik. So yeah, highly recommend
