Story

A pioneering spirit of craftsmanship paired with a deep-rooted connection to the environment and seasons inspires the culinary program at Timberline Lodge on Mount Hood, Oregon. Our family stayed at the Lodge for two nights and looked forward to a special dinner for our final night. We made a reservation with the manager for a table by the fire at 8pm. When we arrived, we stood at the host stand and watched him seat another family at our table. The restaurant was near empty at this time, with only four tables seated. He unapologetically sat us in the middle of the restaurant with dirty tables surrounding us. The waiter was rude and ready to end his shift. We felt disregarded, rushed and unwelcome by every employee. There was no music or pleasant atmosphere, only the sound of dishes being cleared, chairs moved and staff focused on the preparations for closing the restaurant. We paid over $200 for a terrible experience.

Went here for Lunch on a Sunday. They serve a buffet with all you can eat for $22. Drinks are extra with about $4 for coffee or coco. The food was quite good and the deserts were fantastic. Unfortunately, none of the meats was gluten free due to the gravies. The staff was great and brought me the meat without gravy which was fine. I had the pork and they found gluten free mustard which helped. The gluten free desert was the best of them all according to my non gluten free wife.

I had the steak and it was remarkably good. My date had the cheese plate and Manila clams and was pleased with both. The menu was slightly confusing as it is separated into main course and first course. I would suggest ordering whatever you like and not worrying about what part of the menu it's on. Total including tip (20% ) we spent $101 dollars for two people. Staff was friendly and the ambiance was not the most romantic. Overall a good meal and a nice place.I left happy and satisfied. Brunch was good about $50 for two with drinks ... great fruit , desserts and salads.

Food was well prepared. But a bit pricy as expected. Expect $40 to 60 per person.

We had a great brunch. The buffet has an excellent combination of salads, meats, vegetables and desserts. The price for the brunch is about $21 for adults and $11 for kids. It is very reasonable. The coffee glazed beef is delicious - they maintain their own beef supply. The salads were delicious featuring variety of chopped vegetables and healthy new age grains. Everything was delicious. Locally sourced and worth going to over and over again. Separately, we had a delicious dinner. The entree's are more expensive, but quite delicious. Options include their proprietary beef cuts, steelhead, bison and more. We enjoyed a lovely pork collar, with a sunny side egg in top, over delicious polenta. The children's dishes were more controversial with either a very al dente pasta or an under cooked pasta depending upon preference. The children's grilled cheese was unanimously delicious.
