The Boondocks

We have eaten here several times and truly enjoy the cozy and friendly atmosphere. The fries are amazingly good. The fish and chips have always been perfectly done - crispy on the outside and moist and flaky on the inside. We have had two crab dinners and the crab was perfectly cooked. Vegetables are firm and crunchy. The staff are friendly and very open. They always seem to be enjoying themselves. This is a small restaurant with four standard booths, one large booth, a small table for two and one larger table that looks like it could seat six people. It is best to call ahead and make reservations because they fill up quickly and if you just show up, they may not have space. They might, but you are taking a chance; honestly, you don’t want to miss the delight of dining here.

Unbelievably great seafood so far from the ocean. Apparently the owner has a connection with fisher folk on the coast and is able to get fresh seafood on a regular basis. I had the halibut served with clam and my wife had the seafood chowder. We shared ceviche to start and it was fantastic! My halibut was outstanding, the clam strips were just slightly overdone, The best item though by far was the seafood chowder. We have had chowder all over the world and this was one of the very best. Well done! We will be back. The only reason the Boondocks didn't get 5 stars was because of the lack of a/c.

Its a small place that is easy to miss. But shouldn't be missed. Simply fantastic food and friendly staff. We will be back for sure.
