I've been going to The Bent Elbow for years and the guys and I have noticed a decline in the quality of the food recently, but I've always been the one to keep recommending the Elbow. Well, tonight I ordered wings and there were feathers sticking out of them. So I asked the waiter about them and he said very condescendingly, "..that happens from time to time ... chickens have feathers you know..." Huh, interesting. "I realize chickens have feathers but once it comes time to eat them I would expect the feathers to have been removed", I responded. "Meh" is what I got from the waiter. When it was time to settle the bill he asked if I wanted my uneaten wings wrapped up and acted shocked when I said no and I had to explicitly bring up that I did not want the wings added to my bill. Very awkward and very unprofessional. Unrelated to the feathers in the wings, the bills were also wrong and had to be redone with us telling him what we had ordered, however this is standard operating procedure with this guy. Not the end of the story... As I was in my car about to leave the waiter came out the front door and glared at me menacingly which was outside the realm of professional and was just. plain. weird. I should mention also that the feathers in the wings/waiter interaction was not something that was unrecognized by the owner, however, at no point did the owner come by the table to speak with me but he did go to other tables to speak with other patrons which to me was an obvious attempt at positive validation from patrons who were enjoying themselves instead of attempting to turn a negative patron experience into a positive one. Terrible management. This experience is a complete deal breaker for me and I will not be returning, will not be recommending and will actually be recommending against a visit to The Bent Elbow in the future.

There's nowhere else to go in town if you love beer! Great staff - they're always helpful with recommendations, will joke around, and we even went one night after the kitchen was doing a hot sauce "cook off" and they brought us some free sauce to try and vote on! This is a place to go if you like beer and want a social place to drink beer in a more mature environment (i.e. it isn't like a university pub with loud, rowdy drunk people)

The food is decent, but you're probably going here for the massive beer selection. They have what they call their Beer Bible, which is an extensive list of all their beers. They have a diverse selection (IPAs, ciders, stouts, porters, trappist, etc.) and if there's something you're looking for that they don't have, it's likely they can recommend you something that's similar as the staff are knowledgeable and friendly.
