I've been to the angry beaver several times since it's in my hood but haven't really ate there. I had to do a review! I went for a birthday party and they ordered a bunch of food. Drinks are spot on and affordable not overly priced and decent pours. The food is great bar food. The fish and chips were so huge and so good! The 1 pound could feed four people I couldn't even believe it. I think it was $20. I love fish and chips and this is the place to go for the value for sure. The poutine and cheese curds were great too! The servers were super nice as well for a busy hockey night at the bar. Massive screens to watch all the games. Dog friendly too!
My husband had the cowboy burger and enjoyed it. I had the Fish n chips for 22 dollars. The only ok thing about this plate was the fries. The fish batter was not cooked it was gross. McDonald's does better than this. I did not pay for the fish. I took a bite of each Piece of fish just to be fair let my husband try a bite. I don't like to complain but it was so gross. We paid for the fries and we tipped the server 10.00 for her understanding. But I won't be back. Now I'm home and sitting on the toilet processing the 3 bites of fish that my body is totally Rejecting. The atmosphere is cool and drinks are good I'm sure. Just don't get the fish n chips is my advise
The staff were so nice and attentive, even during a busy playoff hockey game! Loved the beer selection and poutine
5 for the burger - has great smokey flavor 2 for the fries - too soggy and didnt feel fresh. Also, cadian hot butter was amazing, warm and strong
First time here in years, as I wasn't near the neighborhood until recently. As my fiancee and I just moved to the area recently, we decided to grab a bite here at the Seattle renowned Hockey Pub, The Angry Beaver. We came in on an off night no local hockey playing anyway, but still a good amount of folks in the joint. The staff were incredibly helpful, nice and welcoming. The ONLY reason I left one star off for the food was because they no longer had the bangers and mash, nor the Steak and fries. But whatever, found other great items on the menu. Again, staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Will definitely be returning any chance I get. Love this joint!
Went on a Sunday night for some grub. The bartender was attentive, friendly, and clearly hard working. In my opinion, the food was subpar. My bf and I shared the Roast Beef Dip and Chicken Caesar salad. Roast Beef Dip was quite underwhelming, wasn't that tasty. The portion sizes seem quite small for what you pay for. Overall, bar had a great vibe would love to return on a game night and the service was good. Just eat elsewhere before you go :
Awesome sports bar, if you like Hockey this is the place! The bartender was very friendly and welcoming, the beer was very cold and very good! Try the homemade fries with cheese curds and bacon! Was total hit with everyone!
This is a pretty good place. You can not mistake it for anything other than a hockey bar. And that is a great thing. There is lots of seating and TV all around the bar. So no matter where you sit you can watch the hockey game. They have a full bar and a good selection of beer on tap and bottles and cans. If you are going to eat there you have to try the poutine. You can have it several different ways. I had. Burger and hand cut fries and they we're good. A very solid burger. My wife had fish and chips and they we're very good. Being in Greenwood park is on the street or there is pay parking behind the building. The only drawback to this visit was there were several flies swarming in the sun. Other than that I think this is a good sports bar and a lot of fun for hockey night.
The service and atmosphere are fantastic in this semi dive bar. The signage outside plays nicely with the theme inside; funny, yet paying homage to the mother land Canada. The walls are nearly covered in jerseys from prominent and even obscure teams, some of which are even really cool alternates. What doesn’t have a Jersey has a tv, as the place is meant to showcase hockey. No fewer than 6 TVs and a giant screen show all of the games on at the moment, and rotate through as others start. There was one bar tender/waiter for a pretty packed house, and I was impressed with his ability to keep up. Being from Toronto, I was stoked about the poutine, and while it was better than most found in the states, it still left me a little wanting. The cheese curds were small and cold, not partially melting in the gravy. The meat I did pot roast was pretty dry. And the gravy lacked a ton of flavor. I did also get the Toronto sandwich, which was fantastic. Complimenting the food nicely, they serve a plethora of Canadian beer, including Molson, Labatt, and Kokanee. I’ll definitely be back to cheer on my faltering Leafs.
Great Jazz night, food is alright - would probably be a 5 star review if not for the bartender. Rude and impersonable, worst qualities on a server. Really soured the rest of the experience.
