"We are a family friendly restaurant in the heart of downtown Monroe, WA serving Barbecue, Steaks and Burger. We are right on Main Street in the original tavern building which is 115 years old. Even the original back bar remains. We serve Angus Beef, Farmland baby back ribs and use only hickory wood for the smoking process. Check our times for availability. Come out and see us!"

Very good BBQ. I had the sampler plate. The brisket was served perfect temperature. It was moist & juicy. Could use a little bit more seasoning as it was kinda bland for my taste buds. The corned beef was really good. The ribs were delicious & perfectly seasoned but it was a little dry & barely warm. Chicken was excellent, Fall off the bone tender. Sweet potato fries was really really good. Service was excellent by the two super nice ladies working there on a Sunday.
First time here, and certainly won't be the last. Nice location on Main Street, and we stopped by in the early afternoon and got seated right away. Some creative choices on the menu, was intrigued by some of the burgers. But we wanted to try the meats so the BBQ for Two fit the bill. Perfect way to share. You get to choose your meat and sides, so we went with the brisket, pulled pork, and corned beef. All were quite good. Found the sweet sauce added a nice complementary taste. Have to note the cornbread is exceptional! A real standout! They offered a nice selection of beers on tap, staff was friendly and prices fair. Look forward to a return visit.
This place is great! Lots of options. We got the BBQ for 2 with ribs, brisket, and sausage. For the sides we got Mac and cheese and coleslaw. My husband got the brisket Philly dip and it did not disappoint. Everything was so fresh and flavorful, they also have great happy hour deals on drinks and apps. The service was also phenomenal! Can't wait to go back and try more of the menu.
I was thrilled, when looking for restaurants while visiting Monroe last November, I came across a Texas BBQ place. I was a little annoyed though when it took quite a few minutes for someone to take my order and then took about twice as long for my food to be ready as I was told, even though there was literally only one other table occupied in the restaurant at the time. And only one other person came while I was there for pickup, so they very much did not appear to be busy. Then, even after the long wait, and even though they charge me $2 extra for the "Texas Style" to add bread pickles and onions, when I got to my hotel I discovered that those accouterments had not even been included. And all of that would have been just a minor aggravation if halfway through my meal I hadn't found a long hair stringing its way through my food. Since I haven't hair that long in many years, it definitely wasn't mine. And since it was very much embedded in the food, there was no question it was from the kitchen employee that I had seen working at the restaurant who, in retrospect, hadn't been wearing a hair net. The food seems like it *would have* been good if they got my order right and managed to have their staff using basic restaurant hygiene protocols. But since most of the order went in the trash can, I really can't say for sure. UPDATE after owner response: The visit was on November 21, 2021. I had been meaning to write the review and was reminded by reviewing my expense report. Sorry if not writing reviews promptly seems somehow nefarious, but it was according to the receipt, it was receipt number 53313 at 4:31pm with server Colton B. for a meat combo $24 "Texas Style" $2. And when I was there that evening, the only person I saw working in the kitchen was a guy with long hair. And I wouldn't have minded the longer wait if I had just been told that was going to be the wait or if some update other than "we're still working on it" had been provided. And getting the order right after getting charged extra would have been nice too.
Great food! Great service! We had a big group and it was all hands on deck to make sure we got served! Well done everyone! We will have to come back and try more!!!
Stopped by on the way home and was pleasantly surprised by how great the food is. We were the only ones in the restaurant, but they seemed to be short wait staff. Wish I lived closer so we could hit up happy hour. Lots of choices on the menu and military discounts, greatly appreciated!Recommended dishesSandwich
Solid bbq sauce, well decorated and the food was pretty good for bbq in the NW. Needs a little more seasoning on the ribs but the lean and fatty brisket was solid. The showstopper was the fried okra, I don't generally see it on a menu so I definitely had to get it and it was delicious!
Great staff . Very busy and maybe a bit hard staffed . Give them time and uou won't be disappointed but make sure to expect a Texas sized evening .reminds me of a much better Rudy's, and if you know Texas bbq you know that's a solid reccomendation. Honestly after coming home , the Mac and. Cheese with the blue cheese .... to die for.
5 stars all the way... well almost. My only 4 star is because of atmosphere. The staff were super friendly. The lights just need a dimmer switch... just to kind've tone it down in the evening... otherwise, super happy with service and food. This was my first visit and I will definitely be back. I had tender ribs, Mac n cheese and corn. Food: 5/5
Wow, we had them cater our wedding, but not normal catering, had them drop and run. We got so many compliments on how good the food was even from people from Texas i highly recommend Amarillo. Only thing that was a little off to me was when they dropped it off they were really concerned about the tip, but we had sent the tip with the final payment for our catering
