Stopped here for one night in a cabin while driving part of the Alaska Highway and glad we did! The cabin was spacious and had many dishes and utensils to cook with, which included the use of a propane bbq no microwave here though. The proprietors, Gail and Ben, were great and friendly. The food was an extra cost but well worth it $20 for breakfast and $7 for a cinnamon bun - the hype is real!. I’d definitely stay again while in the area, though this is the only place to choose from between Fort Nelson and Toad River that isn’t a campsite!
Great view! Easy off and on. Fuel. Restaurant on property.
Location is great, but road construction was happening right in front of them. We stopped for diesel, but they didn't have any at the time. Lodge is pretty. Hoped to try a famous cinnamon bun, but nobody came out to even talk to us while we were in the store, so we left.Service: 2/5
Can't say enough nice things about this campground and our hosts. They took us in on short notice after a mechanical issue and connected us with a great mechanic so we could get back on the road. The campground itself is beautiful and the shop has some great food and gifts. We'll definitely be back.Service: 5/5
Great overnight stop if your power management skills are up to it. Water was pure. Sewer worked well but lacked a collar. Electric was 15a GFCI and not in an in use box. T-storm made the place a mud bowl along with the road being torn up and construction in progress. The lodge was an experience. Best cinnamon roll and homemade soups fresh and hot. Wifi was available in the lodge until it closed at 5pm. You can get a signal on the porch or you might be dinner for the mosquitoes.
Beautiful place. Great people. And the cinnamon rolls smelled so good when I pulled up that I filled my gas truck up with diesel! Luckily with a little help from old Cliff back in the day, we were able to drain it out and get back on the road.
Their road signs were right in saying its the cinnamon bun center of the galactic cluster. Delicious cinnamon bun, if not one of the best I’ve had in years. Totally worth the stop. Super friendly folks.
My wife really enjoyed herself. Loving your until the end of time Mrs. Queen Bridgette GuerraRooms: 5/5
It is rustic and quaint. We stayed in cabin 5 and it was much larger than expected. It is an old log cabin, so it is slanted and old but it was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the shower was hot. There was a gas stove and full fridge in the cabin. The kids had their own room, then there was a kitchen and booth table, then another room with a sitting area, TV , bad and washroom. This was a great stop on our way through the mountains. For the price, it was excellent. The hosts are down to earth and hard workers. They run a small cafe with delicious cinnamon buns and really good coffee no full menu. So long as you know it's a rustic cabin, it's a much nicer experience than a hotel room. The only improvement would be some outside lighting as we arrived after dark and a curtain for the door to the bedroom.
Fabulous cinnamon rolls. Glad we bought extra. The owner is so nice and fun sassy! Loved visiting with her.
