Nice place to stop on the long stretch of the Alaska highway. Good campsites and clean pit toilets. Some very nice hikes and scrambles across the highway. Some noise from trucks on the nearby highway.
You have to hike the Summit Peak Trail. It is a must see if you are traveling through the Northern Rockies Provincial Park just off of the Al-Can. It is a physically moderate trail that is well marked and offers stunning views. It's about 3 miles to the peak.
The Alaska highway! Such a beautiful scenic drive threw the Northern Rockies. The loop is a must, if you ever have the chance todo so. It’s recommended. The trip started for me in Hinton,AB. And stopped at home in Fort st.john,BC. At the time. Travel time was 4 days of spectacular camping & driving.
Although only around 8.5 miles, it is certainly a strenuous but more than worth it hike! Beautiful panoramic views of the Rockies, lake, and mountain streams abound so don't forget your camera! Also make sure to bring an extra jacket as the weather is quite unpredictable as the elevation rises.
