The Dante sandwich is $16 and after taxes it comes to $18.84 to go. It's quite expensive for a smallish sandwich. I would have given two stars but it was quite delicious. An unwashed pear with price code stickers on it isn't all that great either when paying premium prices. I wish the pricing was realistic as I work close by but I will not be returning.
5 stars for the food quality. I've been eating here for years and have enjoyed every sandwich. I don't mind paying a premium for a premium product which Tempesta offers. This restaurant now chargers a 4% credit card fee along with a delivery fee when ordering in person for takeout. The fees aren't disclosed and it's a deceptive practice that shouldn't be legal.
Most times when i get turkey sandwiches and burgers they are usually dry so i avoid them. But The B Franklin is an exceptional turkey sandwich and perfectly balanced. The roasted turkey is moist and smokey complimented with the acidity of the pickled peppers and red onions. The avacado and aoli adds this creaminess and the sprouts add a nice textural crunch. The aged cheese is robust and the toasted sourdough bread holds all these flavors together. The shop is really cool with many italian favorites and some hard to find meats eg guanciale. The staff is super friendly. I look forward to my next visit.
Amazing sandwich shop with so many other choices! I arrived on a Saturday around 12:30pm and they were already sold out of half the sandwich options because this place is so popular! They had a special of the day but all options were amazing. The photos include the pastrami sandwich and #13 turkey, cheddar, etc. The arancini are delicious, everything should get a 10/10. The options are a little pricey but it is on par with the high quality! There is a market area of the shop where you can get gelato/sorbet, pasta salads, sausages, etc. to go. Try the chocolate chip cookie! There are large tables to dine inside, although they fill up quickly. When it is nice outside there are outdoor tables.
The most unique, scrumptious, gourmet deli sandwiches in the city. No one makes sandwiches this good. I can’t even pick a favorite because I love them all!! The customer service is impeccable. They’re so friendly and nice. Beyond courteous. I will continue to go back from Logan Square to get my sandwich fix. Kudos to the manager/chef, Carlos! Keep up the good work!
Okay the sandwiches are AMAZING!! We ordered the beef pastrami and chicken Parmesan they were both good BUT the pastrami one was soooo good! People are complaining about the price if you DON’T want premium quality sandwich go to subway!! It was our first time here and definitely coming back to support this local gem! * the sandwich was so too delicious so the picture is missing half of it. :
I went at a terrible time. Towards the end of lunch they were out of a lot unfortunately. Tried their Dante and had some gelato, both were pretty good. I guess I had high expectations going in but overall felt it was fine. I’d definitely go back and recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.
Heard so much about this place, went today and got the Dante with Parmesan ranch chips cost about $19 for the hardest bread I’ve ever had. The flavor was good but the bread was stale and my jaw got tired trying to chew it. I used my own bread at home because the insides were actually good. Not sure if it was because I came 20 mins before closing and the bread was sitting all day but I expected so much more based on the price and all the good reviews.
The grand pastrami sandwich was amazing!! And it should be given the price. I was however ticked off to find out later they charged me a delivery fee for something I went in and had at their place. Might go again but that 1.26 fee really got me hot. Check your receipt before you leave this place.
Finally got in The Tempesta Deli. Tried the Zeppo meatball sandwich. 3 smaller well made meatballs but small on a highly buttered texas toast bread. Bread very soft but surprisingly held sandwich together. If there was cheese it had little or no impact could hardly taste it. I expected a whole lot more for $13.23. Go to Nonna's on Randolph u get a much larger sandwich for less $$ and the bread is far superior.
