The Teacher Store is a non-profit organization made possible by The Cedar Rapids Education Association (CREA) and Linn Area Credit Union
Located in downtown Cedar Rapids, The Teacher Store is a non-profit organization made possible by The Cedar Rapids Education Association (CREA) and Linn Area Credit Union. The Teacher Store provides free classroom materials and supplies to area educators and their students in exchange for Teacher Bucks.
Educators can earn Teacher Bucks by participating in activities in the schools, volunteering at The Teacher Store or by opening an account, taking out a loan, or getting a credit card at Linn Area Credit Union. Teacher Bucks are also available through the CREA. And the best part is, even one teacher buck goes a long way; you will get MANY dollars worth of materials. Yayyyy!
The Teacher Store is stocked entirely with donations, so our supply is always changing. Here are the types of items you can expect to find:
•pencils & pens
•post-it notes
•glue sticks
•markers
•paper
•Clorox Wipes
•facial tissue
•paper towels
•hand sanitizer
•apparel (youth sizes)
•calculators
•file folders
•binders
•…and much more!
We gladly accept donations of supplies from businesses, organizations and the public. Cash donations are also welcome and will be used to purchase additional inventory for the store. Every donation is much appreciated! A special thank you to area businesses and organizations who support The Teacher Store!
The Teacher Store is staffed completely by volunteers, usually two each shift. We couldn’t keep the store open without them! All volunteers receive Teacher Bucks in return for the time they give. Want to volunteer? Go to www.LinnAreaCU.org/TheTeacherStore.
Note: Please indicate if you are a first-time volunteer so we can make sure someone is available to train you (it’s really easy!) and get you into the store.
