Review is based on takeout only. the service was relatively quick and food comes piping hot. The naan is very well done - not burnt, good thickness and texture $2.25 each. Got the eggplant Bharta $15 and wow does it have kick but well done on the smokey component. Well done dishes with amp amount of flavouring and content. Would not call this overly oily either as I've experienced worse. Good spot to go to.
Overall Nice experience. Food was good. DAhi bhalla needed to be a bit more sweeter. Especially Fish pakora,Tandoori Chicken, Amritsari Kulcha were good. Ordered mango lassi and Mango shake weren’t cold enough and couldn’t differentiate the taste difference. Rasmalai was okay very runny and texture wasn’t not impressive!!
I was in the area at lunch time and found this place. I ordered the veg. Samosa plate and was impressed. I was just expecting two plain samosas with some chickpeas on the side with sauce. It can out smothered in sauces with onion and was delicious. I'm looking forward to coming back here again. The is authentic Indian cuisine.
I usually really like the Veg noodles and Manchurian combo from here, but yesterday when I ordered, for some reason the noodles were tasting very tomatoish.. if that makes sense?! Spring rolls were ok, I enjoy it from the other restaurant I order from instead. Manchurian and bread pakora were really good giving 4 stars because of the weird tasting noodles!
Outstanding place! Amazing food.. great people and the best Indian food I’ve tried recently. Overall this place serves stomach filling food in Vancouver. Ample parking space available.
We had ordered two lunch combos: butter chicken and lamb curry. Attached are the updated menu prices. When we ordered the butter chicken combo, it rung up higher than what is listed but the staff made a correction so that it showed the correct price. Overall, the food was good. The combos came with rice, naan, onion salad, and the curry of your choice. Portions and taste were good compared to the value. We will definitely be back to try out other items.
Highly recommended for good North Indian food. Tandoori chicken and Kashmiri kulcha are my favourite from this place. They have recently upgraded the ambience, but it's still not a nice place for dine in. I usually prefer takeout from this place because the food itself is amazing. They have ample free parking infront of the restaurant. You can call in ahead to order for pickup. Parking: Infront of the restaurant. Shared with other businesses. 1 hour free.
I would say this is the best place to try the Fish Pakora .... I have tried in many places which will be loaded with batter where us here very unique and light layer of batter ....and all their dishes are in great quality and quantity for the worth money
One is the authentic Indian food I’ve had in BC. Especially if you’re into spicy food ,ask them specifically to make it spicy and the chef will definitely make you fall in love with the food .
I always try a new Indian restaurant that opens close to where I live. Having grown up in the North of England, you could say it's our national dish and the standards are really high. Sadly the food at Tasty Planet is not high quality Indian food. The rice pilau appears to be basmati rice with supermarket yes supermarket mixed carrots, corn and green beans. And it's very dry. The Chicken Tikka Masala had a sauce that can only be described as super-sweet and lacking in that wonderful rich flavour of a typical masala. On a brighter note, the pakoras and breads were decent enough. But that isn't enough to make me try this restaurant again.
