This place offers you quite an exotic experience. Tried foods I've never seen at most other resturants. The pani puri was delicious and fun to scoop this green liquid sauce into the circular hollow fried crisps stuffed with... All sorts of stuff. The mango falooda was also fun to eat/drink. It had like vermicelli noodles.... Mango bits... Ice cream... And all sorts of things in it... Like a treasure trove mash up... But it still somehow tasted good. The Dabeli and Bombay Vada Pav were unique potato burger like concoctions that were unique but just kinda average in taste. And paan....its interesting. Not my thing but I can see people liking it.. Perhaps its an acquired taste.
Pani puri, chaat and other Indian street foods here is great. VEGETARIAN! Reasonable prices, friendly service. Lots of new things to try. Get the thali platter for a taste of several things. Also, mango lassi and mango falooda very filling & refreshing. There are some pictures out front but it would be nice to include pictures in the menu, as a lot of the items are lesser known unless you grew up with it. Pani puri Samosa chat Sambhar idli spongy rice cakes in a spicy stew Paneer Bhurji dosa not spicy Spring veg uttapam rice flatbread with finely chopped toppings and side of sambhar Vegetarian options: All vegetarian. Parking: Limited, awkward, crowded parking lot.
Food is good but the service here is terrible! Even for small stuff like salt and pepper no one would listen. We had to get up and go to the main counter again and again. We had to wait for 40 mins. Food was good and i would like to visit but Hopefully they will have better service. I deducted 2 stars only for their worse service
Visited this place in the evening. Whole dining section was empty. Ordered Dahi Puri and Ragada. They have well plated the dishes. Dahi in the Dahi Puri should have been more thick than it is served. Ragada was crisp , hot and well balanced with spices. Overall Good experience.
We ordered: 1. Paav Bhaji: 3.9/5 Good taste but less quantity 2. Dahi Batata Puri:4.1/5 6 puris and great taste 3. Paneer Katthi Role 2 rolls, good priced but not that great in taste
First order from Royal Paan for Hakka Noodles and Manchurian. The dish was quite nice albeit a bit spicy and the quantity was wholesome. Takeout was carefully packed. Will update this review as we order more items.
Was in the mood for a heavy snack with something to drink and decided to try this place out! I got the Samosa Chaat and a Khus Lemonade. The carbonated lemonade was refreshing. It contained basil seeds which I liked but the drink was a tad too sugary for my tastebuds. The Samosa Chaat came with two pieces of potato and pea filled samosas slathered in chickpea curry, whipped yogurt, sweet tamarind sauce, hot chutney and garnished with raw red onions and tomatoes. It was a flavour explosion with every bite! Definitely a heavy mid-afternoon snack but was worth the calories. =
Excited that we have royal paan in Burnaby now. We ordered ubereats Amritsari Uttapam, Rabri Falooda and Calcutta meetha paan. Everything tasted delicious. Rabri Falooda is a must must try. Uttapam looked like a pizza and was tasty but it was different. Must try! Well I had to change the rating please see the pic of sambar that came with dosa and uttapam.
Decided To Give Them A Try For The Third Time Since They Have Opened This Location . 1. Very Expensive For Portion Size 2. Quality & Presentation Doesn’t Exist 3. Place Is Clean & Service Is Good . Limited Parking spots 4. Expect Longer Wait Times Even If The place is empty . 5. Not Everything On Menu is available .
I was very excited to see Royal Paan was soon opening as it's in my neighbourhood. I went there last night and there was zero parking available, so I left. I returned this evening and it was much better in.the early evening. They need to assign spots to their restaurant! The decor is not the most visually appealing but I did like the word clouds - that was pretty neat! Considering it is called Royal Paan, it had 4 paans listed on the menu but the front counter has lots of options. The servers are kind when they are at the table but they take a very long time to take your order and rarely check on you. It was the same to get your check on the way out. I ordered the pav bhaji dosa which sounded fantastic and arrived looked very flat and BARELY had any filling. But it was tasty. The white chutney was very tasty and the sambar was very sharp tasting. The Vada pav I ordered was a major disappointment! The actual pav was not like the small pav, it was more like a brioche bun - not ideal! It was slathered with an insipid green chutney that was quite flavorless and only worked when I added the white chutney from my dosa. The vada was not properly seasoned and the imli chutney was ok. Overall, this is NOT worth the money. The Rabdi Falooda was absolutely delicious and was such a happy surprise after 2 disappointing dishes. It was rich, unctuous, full of crunch, the kulfi was so good, and was so pretty to look at too! DEFINITELY worth having this one and would go back here only for this. The Mango milkshake was also very nice! Overall, I'd go back here only if I was right there, not make a special visit. If I did go, I'd try the other snacks and not repeat any of these items other than the Falooda. Go early for parking. I'm in no rush to go back here.
