Dave and Yulanda work so hard to ensure every camper has a great experience. We stayed for two years and had zero issues with management. If we are ever back in this area will definitely return to Tameling. Only issues were from other campers who weren’t conscientious of rules or others- normal every campground issues AND Anytime there were problems- Yulanda addressed them immediately. Love, love, love this place.
Nice place, friendly people. But frankly i only experienced that part where my family member leases a space long term and it's basically gated off with a lock from the standard camp spaces. The rv long term park spaces are nice and grassy enough to accommodate my tent on her space
My wife and I are the new managers here at Tameling Rv Campground. We found that some of the managers in the past really did not keep up with maintaining the property so we are trying very hard to get the property back in order. We have been cutting down the over grown brush around the lake so our campers can fish along the banks. We finally had time to paint the shower rooms. Keeping the shower rooms sanitized everyday is a job all by its self. WE DO KEEP UP WITH SANITIZING OUR SHOWER TWICE EVERYDAY FOR COVID-19. We see several negative reviews and we are working very hard everyday to address every issue. Remember there is only two of us working 150 acres so bear with us. We always remind everyone that wants to come out and camp with us that we are located on top of a coal mine so there are times that our well water smells like sulfur, this we cannot control. Some people have said that we never answer the office phone. The phone are on from 8am - 8pm 7 days per week. If we do not answer the phone that is because we are somewhere on the property working. With 150 acres sometimes the cell phone signal is very week. So please leave a message and we will call back as soon as we have a good signal. If you want a park to look nice we cannot sit inside the office all day. We have 27 campsites that are full hook up. These sites are usually filled with travelling workers. Our primitive area is for weekend campers, we are working very hard at opening sites that have overgrown under brush, so hopefully 2021 will bring at least 8 new primitive site. So if your in need of a campsite give us a call. The property is very quiet. But keep in mind, this is a travelling workers campground so there really is not much for children to do except for hike and hunt for fossils or fish. As always travel freely but travel safe.
We’ve had a yearly permanent for several years. We’ve always enjoyed it, but they continue to increase the yearly rate, but haven’t done any improvements on any of the sites. We’re giving our site up this year and moving on. Sorry to say good-bye.
If your looking for a camp ground that doesnt charge .20 cents per kilowatt on electric and doesnt gossip or lie and say neighbors are complaining when they dont then there are great campgrounds in Marseilles il. Flat rates for monthly electric included. With pool and fishing as well as laundry. Won't ever come back to tameling until they change management was there for 4 yrs. Found one way better with food and beer if you want a campground that's way more convenient check out Marseilles and the water doesn't smell because they actually take care if it
Decent place, no complaints. Good price, good availability, we called the week of July 4th, 2 hours ahead, and found availability, hosts are flexible with check-in time, though it is cash-only.
We had a good time , very nice and friendly place
Great people great place . The manager's are good people doing a great job of upkeep and cleaning.
The main reason I'm giving this place two stars is because the lady that works there is super sweet and if not for her I would give it 1star. As for the facilities and amenities here... they have a pond you can catch and release fish, if you can find a spot off the bank to try and do so. The pond from what all I could see is over grown. You pay for everything here except the water. The water is horrible. The smell and the funk is atrocious. It stains and the sulphur smell at times is so strong it can make you sick. My electric at the end of a month was a little over 80. I was very conservative and worked 14 hrs a day away from camp so be warned its expensive. The rent agreement there is a large packet and you better read. You must cut the grass or be charged, pay extra for guests and so forth. Overall I wouldnt recommend this place.
I am so grateful for this place, our beautiful. Wonderful camp gal was so generous to help us out with this need! we are so thankful .... grateful place, very clean and nice!!!!!!! Thank you!
